OUT OF COUNTRY MISSION – Patty and Michael Caudell led a very

successful mission to Guatemala. Fourteen folks from Aldersgate partici-

pated including several families. Aldersgate UMC was featured on the

Mission Guatemala website. Check it out!

http://missionguatemala.com/2015/06/medical-team/

We thank you for your support that reached far outside our walls to help others.

Senior Saints will be back in

August. See you then!

NEW NEW NEW NEW DISCIPLEDISCIPLEDISCIPLEDISCIPLE CLASSCLASSCLASSCLASS

"What's in the Bible?" "How can I become a Disciple?" Beginning on Monday, August 17Monday, August 17Monday, August 17Monday, August 17, Disciple

I (red), Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study, will meet at 6:30 pm at the Stocks' home. To join the group,

contact Gloria Stocks (706-860-2020 or 706-339-2274 or [email protected]). This is a 34 week study that is a firm basis for any bi-

ble study. Come join us; we have fun learning from each other!

NEXT WORK DAY: The Mission Team has scheduled a tentative workday at Miss

Mary’s House (Miss Mary is one of our custodians) on July 11th from 9AM-12Noon. We

will be cleaning up her yard and around her house after her recent fall. Please plan to

come out and help this lady who does so much at Aldersgate. Watch the Weekly

Email Blast for more information and a possible date change.

Coming this FALL • STUFF THE BACKPACK – You supported us last year as we provided 55 backpacks full of

basic school supplies to A. Brian Merry and Tutt. Karen Britton, Patty Caudell, Susan Pitts and

Mimi Goldsmith will be heading up this project. Rite Aid, in Daniel Village, will again support us

with half price backpacks. The cost of the backpack will depend on the cost of the pack and as-

sociated school supplies. Please call any of the ladies listed if you would like to help with the pro-

ject. Again, more information to follow in the Weekly Email Blast.

• STOP HUNGER NOW – We have committed to pack 30,000 meals this year to help those who

are hungry around the world. Join us Saturday, November 21, in our Family Life Center from

9:30am to 12pm. Lunch will be served. We will need at least 100 volunteers for this event. In ad-

dition, we will need more six foot tables than we have available, if you have access to extra ta-

bles, please let one of the listed coordinators know. Those of you who participated last year

know how much fun we had. Roger Ford, Al Britton and Dick Magruder will be working with this

event. Our youngest volunteer last year was eight years old and our most senior volunteer was

86 so all are welcome to participate! Call Roger at 706-832-0671 if you have more questions.

• USA MISSIONS – Dave Bolyard and Steve Zimmerman will be taking a Team, probably to North

Carolina, the last full week of September. Volunteers will be needed to help with construction/

renovation of storm damaged homes. Skills are helpful but really not needed. I have no skills but

am a great fetch and carry guy. Watch for more information over the next two months.
