Alaska Wilderness Yoga Adventure

DAY 1: FROM ANCHORAGE TO THE KENAI PENINSULA

We’ll meet in the morning at our Anchorage departure hotel, introduce ourselves, have a brief overview of the tour, and head south to the Kenai Peninsula. We will explore Turnagain Arm and get an introduction to the majestic glacially carved

landscape of Southcentral Alaska. Next, a picnic lunch and 2-3 hour hike on the way to our quaint mountain accommodations. We’ll arrive energized from the fresh air,

refresh, and enjoy our first optional yoga practice, followed by an Alaskan-style dinner and time to explore and settle in.

DAY 2: KENAI PENINSULA TO KENAI FJORDS NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy a morning yoga option followed by a short drive to Seward, Alaska. Board a small private sightseeing boat for a four-hour tour of Kenai Fjords National Park, where you’ll gaze at amazing landscapes, scope for wildlife (humpback whales,

orcas, stellar sea lions, harbor seals, puffins, murres), sit at the face of a tidewater glacier waiting for it to calve, and finally arrive at our remote lodge. You’ll have

time to get oriented before you set out on an afternoon activity followed by hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and an evening program.

DAY 3: KENAI FJORDS NATIONAL PARK

Wake up with an optional yoga practice. Today we’ll spend the day deep in the heart of the park. Choose from half or full day excursions canoeing, kayaking, and hiking

in the temperate rainforest, up close and personal with glaciers, glacial ice, sea otters, and curious harbor seals. Enjoy a spectacular meal and an evening program.

DAY 4: KENAI FJORDS NATIONAL PARK TO THE KENAI PENINSULA

Morning yoga option. Today we choose a half-day activity to explore the remote surroundings, enjoy a wonderful lunch, and head back to the Kenai

Peninsula hoping to spy more marine wildlife on the two-hour journey back to civilization. You’ll have a few hours to explore Seward and enjoy a gourmet

dinner. Then we’ll travel north to our accommodations in the mountains of the Kenai Peninsula.

DAY 5: KENAI PENINSULA TO TALKEETNA

After an optional yoga session, we’ll head north to Talkeetna. We will stop along the way for a picnic lunch and arrive in historic Talkeetna for afternoon activities. The convergence of three major rivers with Denali as the backdrop creates quite the landscape! Explore the town with a historic walking tour, gawk at the human wildlife, go for a hike or canoe ride, admire several artists’ work, relax, or choose

from a variety of optional activities with additional fees: fishing, scenic rafting tours, dogsled demos, glacier dogsled tour, ziplining, or a jet boat tour. Enjoy a

home-cooked meal and an optional quieting evening yoga practice.

DAY 6: TALKEETNA TO DENALI NATIONAL PARK

Morning yoga option followed by travel to the entrance of Denali National Park. Enjoy a hike, splurge at the National Geographic bookstore, or enjoy the visitor’s center before

we jump on our bus to take us 97 miles back into the park to our remote lodging. Along the way, look for wildlife and choose what areas of the park you’d like to explore for the

next few days.

DAY 7: DENALI NATIONAL PARK

Relaxed morning yoga session option followed by the opportunity to explore the Kantishna Valley by foot or bike or jump back on a park bus and explore the park

vistas and wildlife.

DAY 8: DENALI NATIONAL PARK

An early morning yoga session sets you up to have a full day in the most spectacular region of the park. Usually a 3-4 hour bus ride away from the entrance, you’ll be able

to explore from within the park’s heart. Set up a hike with rangers, explore on your own, or bike the Park.

DAY 9: DENALI NATIONAL PARK TO ANCHORAGE

Today we’ll get a real perspective of the vastness of Alaska as we enjoy an included flightsee to Denali Mountain (weather dependent) and a flight over the park back to

the entrance. Once on the road system, you’ll take the historic railroad back to Anchorage.

YOGA Leigh Lubin is a seasoned naturalist, an

exceptional Alaskan guide and an E-RYT 200 yoga teacher. She designed the trip to offer the

ACCOMMODATIONS Nights are spent in twin share rooms or cabins

at lodges or hotels. Our lodges, cabins, and hotels are not extravagant (don't expect televisions, in-room telephones, baggage handling, or room service), but they are

friendly, comfortable, scenically situated, and rich with Alaskan hospitality and character.

You’re going to like them! Most feature private bathrooms and showers, although a few are more rustic, with clean, shared facilities. The lodges also offer opportunities to meet local people, thus offering a slice of local color and some insight into what it's like to live in the

Great Land year-round. The price is based on twin-share rooms. Solo lodge tour guests must

pay a $1088 single supplement, although we may be able to pair you with a same-sex single if you wish, thereby avoiding the supplement.

NOT INCLUDED Transport to and from Anchorage, Anchorage lodging, optional activities, personal expenses,

gratuities for your guides (general tipping guidelines provided in your pre-departure

packet). Personal travel insurance recommended.

MEALS All the delicious and inspiring meals are included (except for breakfast the first

morning). Breakfasts are hot, multi-course meals or ordered off a restaurant menu.

Lunches are buffet-picnics or packed meals that we carry on activities. Dinners are family

style at our lodges or in local restaurants. Vegetarian, vegan, and most special diets can easily be accommodated with advance notice.

Please list any dietary restrictions or preferences on your Tour Reservation Form.
