Come and See God in a New Light
I often think about the many times I have been able to go on adventures looking for new discoveries. Now, I am not talking about “Indiana Jones” type of discov-ery trips. But I am referring to finding ways to enjoy life. As a young boy, I would go to the lake and go fishing, or go to the woods and hunt. I even enjoyed walking through the woods and watching the wildlife in their habitat. Life was different when I would go on these adventures. Time didn’t matter. I would just enjoy the opportunity to see life differently. Going outside made me happy. Go-ing beyond everyday activities to do something exciting filled me with joy. This is how I began to experience God’s presence in creation and in my own life. I would love walking through the woods and seeing how exciting life could be outside the busyness of life. Having the opportunity to slow down and see all of creation and how much God’s presence makes a difference in one’s life is always exciting. As I walked and thought of God’s interaction with me, I began to see him in a new light. Today, if your life seems busy, if things tend to build up and cause stress in your life, if relationships with family or friends becomes a struggle in your life, I invite you to pause and discover God’s invitation for you to come and see him in a new light. I encourage you to pause, or slow down for a moment. Understand that any circumstance you face is not the defining moment for your life, but it gives you an opportunity to spend time with God and see how God can meet your need. Discover how God can fill you with His love and grace to empower you in the struggles. Discover God’s presence in your life and discover just how important you are to him. Today, I pray for each of you as you journey in life. I pray you discover God’s love and grace for you through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! Enjoy discovering more of God’s plan and presence for your life! In Christ’s love, Pastor Daryl
