He will be returning home May 25th, and will be returning to work here at Peterman Heating, Cooling & Plumbing Inc. on May 27th! He has been deployed multiple times to both Iraq and Afghanistan between 2001 and 2005. Brian joined active duty Air Force back in 1994. From 1994 to 2001, he worked as an ICBM missile maintainer at Malmstrom AFB, MT. He then cross-trained and worked as a loadmaster on C-17 aircraft from 2001 to 2005 and was stationed at McChord AFB, WA. He was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times as a loadmaster and was lucky enough to travel all over the world during that time. In 2005, he was no longer on active duty with the Air Force. Then he met his wife, Kendra, in 2007 and they now have two children together, Macey (5yrs old), and Parker (10mos old). Eventually, Brian decided to go into the Air Force Reserve in 2012 where he now works as a Crew Chief on KC-135 tanker aircraft at Grissom AFB, IN. As a Crew Chief they maintain, refuel, inspect, repair, and perform all ground handling of the aircraft. He is currently going through four months of upgrade training. What better way to celebrate Armed Forces Day this month then to welcome one of our own home!

Charity Event of the Month - Giving Back

Race for the Cure 2014

Here at Peterman we love to give back to the community, and try to make it a monthly event.

Last month, on April 12th, over forty employees, friends, and family members came out to support our two very own breast cancer survivors! Thank you so much to everyone that came out to support our Race for the Cure team, PetermanHVAC! It was an awesome turn out, and we are truly grateful!

We are still trying to reach our goal of raising $1,000 for Central Indiana Affiliate- Susan G. Komen. You can donate to our PetermanHVAC team up through May 12th at the following website:

http://indy.info-komen.org/site/TR?team_id=291832&fr_id=3885&pg=team.

Click on the “Donate to this team!” button to donate. We are only $200 short of this goal!!

Thanks again to all of those that have already donated, and/or came out to support our two survivors, Beth Peterman, and Pam UpChurch, here at Peterman. We are truly grateful!

Fatherly Advice - Mr. Peterman

Setting Goals

Advice from me to my boys as I try to teach them how to provide continued

service to all of our customers.

Foster Children in Need!

The month of May is here and it looks like Spring might be here to stay. It is a definite welcoming sign after the brutal winter that we experienced. I hope everyone is enjoying my monthly column. I am not normally a writer, but this has given me a great chance to reflect on my boys and what I am trying to teach them as they take a larger role in the company.

This month I would like to focus on the importance I have placed on

goal setting. Setting goals was a skill I learned from my father and something I have tried to relate to the boys regardless of what they are doing. Both boys played a ton of sports growing up and were both fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play in college. I think this experience had a profound effect on the importance they placed on goal setting. As I saw this skill begin to develop through sports, I tried to further reinforce these principles at home.

Now at work, we are constantly reviewing old goals and setting new ones as we continue to grow. I know my energy level has definitely increased when it comes to setting some of these goals because of their willingness to take on larger goals. I can truly see the lessons I taught them at an early age driving their attitude towards setting goals in their professional career, which is very gratifying.

The goal I am most proud of that the boys came up with is the goal of providing the best customer service experience to our customers. It seems like every day someone at the office is coming up with an idea to provide better service. The boys have definitely led this charge, but the whole company has latched onto this goal and ran with it.

Don’t tell mom…but we stole her blog this month!

Dear Mom,

Seeing as Mother’s Day is this month, we wanted to write your blog for you and tell you how much we love you. First, we would like to say thank you for all you have done and continue to do for us. You have played a huge role in who we are and prepared us for whatever life has to offer.

Second, we would like to reflect on what you mean to us. You were always there to take us to practice when dad was working late. You were always there to make our lunch for school when dad was at work early. We know that you sometimes gets overlooked because you take care of everything behind the scenes. You have

Home, Health and Garden Show 2014

never once complained about not getting recognition for all that you do and that is something we both respect. You are the strongest woman either of us has ever met and thinking about what you are able to do is truly inspiring.

You are always intent on enjoying life and spending time with family and friends. You are the leader in your group of friends and they seem lost without you there. That makes us very happy knowing that you are loved by so many. Dad lucked out when he found you!

Love your boys,Chad & Tyler

I hope when we are out at your house this year, you can see our efforts to provide better service in action. You have my word; we will continue to strive towards reaching this goal.

Sincerely,

Pete PetermanPresident

Congratulations Chuck and Family!

Next month our company will be hosting a luggage, suitcase, book bag, duffle bag, and any kind of bag, bag drive for the foster children of Indiana.

“Imagine a child being removed from their home due to abuse and/or neglect. If you are lucky enough to be allowed to take some of your possessions with you, imagine being handed a plastic garbage bag to use to put your belongings into to take along. What are we saying to these children?

The Marion County Department of Child Services is committed to the children in our community. Family

Case Managers work tirelessly to make sure children can live in an environment free from abuse and

neglect, either inside or out of their own home. It is our wish and hope that children would no longer have to put their things in a garbage bag to move from place to place, but instead have a bag/suitcase so they can move much like you or I would.

We are reaching out to community businesses and organizations to help make these wishes and hopes a reality by partnering with us to conduct a luggage/duffel bag collection drive or to purchase new items for our children to use.

Thanks for helping our children!” -Regional Foster Care Licensing Supervisor

Please help us collect bags for these less fortunate children.

In addition to the bags, please feel free to donate toys, clothes, diapers, or anything else a child would need! We will be accepting donations to either Peterman Heating, Cooling & Plumbing location (Indianapolis, or Columbus. See addresses below,) May 1st – May 31st.

Indianapolis: 5240 Commerce Circle, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237 M-F 9am-4pm

Columbus: 919 23rd St.,Columbus, Indiana 47201 M-F 9am-4pm
