Wright regarding the incident thattook place on 04(20(1999 at Columbine High School. After beingadvised as to the identity of the interviewing agent and thenature of the interview, Shirek and Henningsen provided thefollowing information:

At approximately 11:10 am, Shirek cot out of Math classand proceeded from the math department down the main hall anddirectly to the cafeteria. Henningsen had Jewelry class beforel:unch and got out at apprOXimately 11: 08 am. Upon leavingJewel:t:y class, Henningsen left the art department, went throughtha middle hall by the tech lab and went to her locker, locker#201. After leaving her locker, Henningsen went down the mainhall to the cafeteria. Both Shirek and Henningsen sat down atthe same lunchroom table (marked II on diagram sketch). Alsositting at the same table were Brittney Gillette, Bae Gattoni,Natalie Baker, Marni Maclennan, Julie Naslund, Jennifer Pollack,Meghan l?iro, and Nicole Ray. Henningsen got her lunch and satback down. Shirek had not gotten her lunch yet. Henningsen wassitting to the left of Shirek, facing northwest. BrittneyGillette was sitting to the left of Henningsen; Shirek wassitting to the right of Henningsen facing west.

Henningsen, Shirek, and Sarah Filipiak brought camerasto the cafeteria and were snapping pictures of friends around thetable during lunch. Henningsen tock 15-20 pictures with a FugiQuicksnap disposable camera. Shirek took four or five pictureswith her camera, but left the camera in the cafeteria. Filipiakis also believed to have left her camera behind. During theinterview. Henningsen provided her Fugi Quicksnap disposablecamera to SA Wright. Henningsen advised that the camera alsocontained some pictures from Disneyland. Later that same day, SAWright logged the camera into evidence at the Jefferson CountySheriff's Office, evidence control 1110062.

four boys ran into the cafeteria from the entrance by theteachers lounge and were yelling that someone had a gun. ChrisMarkham and Steve Dreaden were two of the boys. Everyone gotdown under the tables and Henningsen saw William Sanders walkingaround making sure everyone was under the tables. After two orthree minutes, everyone got up and started running in alldirections. Henningsen and Shirek ran up the stairs. Whilerunning up the stairs, they heard a loud bang behind them. BothHenningsen and Shirek ran east down the main hall and out theexit at the end of the hall. Once outside the school both ranacross Pierce Street to Leawood Park.

Neither Shirek or Henningsen remember seeing any largeduffle bags sitting in the cafeteria during lunch. Henningsenadvised that she was also in the cafeteria first hour and fourthhour. When Henningsen was there fourth hour, Bae Gattoni,Natalie Baker, Kelcy Fowler, Jenny Allen, Jenny Pollack, andBrittney Gillette were also there. Henningsen does not recallseeing any large duffle bags in the cafeteria first hour orfourth hour. During both first hour and fourth hour, there wereapproximatelY 50 students sitting around in the cafeteria,Henningsen recalls that Soott Parker, Brock Rembold, and LindseyLast Name unknown(LNU} were also in the cafeteria during fourthhour.

Henningsen and Shirek did not know Eric Harris, DylanKlebold, or any of the other members of the Trenchooat Mafia verywell. Benningsen heard a rumor that Patrice Doyle knows EricHarris and saw him in school the morning of 04/20/1999. Doylenoticed that Harris had a strange expression on his face, whichconcerned her enough that she and a friend left school before theshooting, Henningsen also heard that Ashley Egeland and LacyHohn were chased by two gunmen. ~ohn believed thatthe ~~men were Eric Harris and ..............

That day, Shirek was wearing a light blue Shirt, bluejeans, and white shoes. Henningsen was wearing a white shirt,green skirt, and tan sandals.

On April21, 1999, I was asked to assist members of the JeffersonCountySheriff's Officewiththe collectionofevidence at Columbine Highschool, 6201 S. Pierce Street, in unincorporatedJeffersonCounty, State ofColorado, Upon arrival, I was first asked by SergeantBooras torecordthe licenseplates of all the vehicles parked in the loton south side of the highschool.Aftercompletingthis task I gave the record of the license plates to Sgt. Booras.

Following this, I was asked to responded to the southwest cornerof the building and assistSgt.Dunnebecke with the collectionofevidence. Atthis sceneI observedseveral brokenwindows.fragments from explosives, clothingand otherpersonal items, bulletcasings, bloodstains, andother items whichI did not recognize. I assisted theJCSOand the FBI with the collectionofitemsof evidence. All items recovered by me,at this scene, were turnedover to theJCSO asevidence,

My final assignment was to assist investigators withcanvassing the south and south west parkinglOIS for any further items of evidence. During this search I locatedtwo bullet fragments. r alsoobservedwhatappeared to be bomb fragments and damage to several vehicles in the parking lot.My final task was to pick-upany nailswhichwere located, and marked, by investigators earlierin the investigation. All items were givenover to Investigator Reker as evidence.

On 04-28-99 we were assigned the lead to follow-up indicating a pieceof evidence which was recovered from Klebold's room from a search warrant.The item was initially described as a power source made by Cardinal, model#14400V32BTS, Serial #740013, and has a identification tag attached toBerger & Co. C0063.

The item was cleared via CCIC and no record was located indicating theitem has not been report stolen.

The Berger & Co. was located within the Denver Metro area at;1350 17th Street

'",.is company is a computer software company and program developer.

Item #438 was viewed at the Jefferson county Property area, to obtainJetter description. It was learned the item is not a power source,

rather a 14400 bps external modem.

Berger & Co. was contacted via telephone. Mr. Bud Wilkerson conductedsome research on the item. The tag on the item is a old control numberingsystem. He added the company often donates various computer components.He believes the modem being a 14.4 bps is an old item and was most likelydonated to Jefferson County Schools. Mr. Wilkerson will continue toresearch the item for a more exact explanation.

On 04,29·99 I received a call from Mr. Greg Martin who is the MISdirector for Berger & Co. He was able to give detail as to the dispositionof the 14.4 bps external modem. His records show it was donated to theDutch Creek Elementary School. He shows the donation took place in Augustof 1998. His contact for Dutch Creek Elementary School as Janet Vanzant at303-978-9802.

On 04-30-99 I was able to contact Janet Vanzant who explained she hadreceived the donation. She has a memo stipUlating the donation from Berger& Co. I was faxed a copy of the memo. Contained in the Memo is 5 externalmOdems, however none are listed with serial numbers.

We were assigned lead #11, which indicated the need to search thewallets of Harris ~~d Klebold for any lists or other information to befollowed up on. On 05-03-99 we went to the Jefferson County S.O. evidencevult and obtained the wallets for each.

From Harris's wallet a phone list, various business cards were foundand copied. From this list lead sheets were completed to determine anyrelationship or association to Harris.

From Klebold's wallet a phone list, moniker list, and a locker listcontaining combos with names_ Lead sheets were completed to locate anddetermine ~~y association to Klebold from the lists.

From this lead there were approx. 43 leads completed and submitted forassignment.

On May 6, 1999 I spokewith KASTLE and LAUGHLIN independently. Both saidtheyhadprovided several interviews with otherinvestigators from the Columbine TaskForce. LAUGHLIN said the only personhe was withat the timeof the shooting wasJeffrey Marquardt, who hadbeen interviewed by Investigator Terry Demmel, whichDemmel confirmed, leadCN#2500.

KASTLE and LAUGHLIN couldonlyprovide twopersons the associate with being;Dan Holsey and Dan Palmeter, neither of which were in the areawith themat the time ofthe shooting, PAL'v1ETER was interviewed by Investigator Russ Atanasio, CN#283 I.

Noleads were found to identify "Dan" as presentwith KASTLE and LAUGHLIN atthe time of the incident.

Shedescribed this personas being 5' -3 with longdark hair who frequently woreblackand white make-up.BARBOSA said theonly information she knew was that "Eric" claimed to have startedthe group a few yearsago. but was "kicked-out" a coupleof yearsago by the others in thegroup. She added that "Eric" had told her the others in thegroup had kicked him outquite some timeago becausethey didn't like hispassive attitude, and that he did not "getinto the wild, crazystuff."

BARBOSA said shedid not have any further information or leads for identifying"Eric." Sheadded that she did not haveany: information directly related to the incidentatColumbine HighSchool.

BARBOSA later provided a telephone number for a personnamed "Ashley,"(ROSS), whom she said wouldknow "Eric's" lastname.

FLETCHER said on April 29, 1999 whileatworkCRAVEZ had told another employee, Christine BELl.., that she knew six of thepersons involvedin the "bombing." FLETCHER said BElL is a student at ColumbineHigh Schooland had becomeupset over what CRAVEZ had been told her. She had alsolearnedthat CRAVEZ had told BElL that the persons involvedin the "bombing" hadshownher a plan or drawingof the school showring where they were going to place thebombs. BElL said CHAVEZhad also mentioned that two of the six persons wereKLEBOLD and HARRIS.

FLETCHER said she personallyspoke withCRAVEZabout her comments. She saideRAVEZ confirmedthis to her saying sheknew KLEBOLDand HARRIS, as weU asfour other "guys"that were involved. eRAVEZalso told her that she hadbeen shown aplan Or diagramby the persons involvedin the bombingof where they were going toplace the bombs withinthe school. FLETCHER said CRAVEZ told her she did notknow the names of the other four "guys" involved but that she could identify them fromphotographs. FLETCHER said she did not haveany informationthat BElL hadmentioned anythingabout the incident prior to April 29'". She saidshe had become an acquaintance of theirs, seeing themonlyat Fnnplex about 15 to 25separate times over the years following. She descrihed them as always weadng blackclothing,but that they did not wear the black trenchcoats for the first few months sheknewthem.

whenshe met him. someof which werealso wearing black clothing. MELISSA saidHARRIS and KLEBOLD were almostalways together when she saw them at Funplex.She addedthat HARRIS was "really cool," and that she knewhim better as bespoke withher morethan KLEBOLD. She also addedthat KLEBOLD appeared to want to keep herout of theirgroup. MELISSA said that HARRIS spoke frequently of suicide and told herhowhis life "sucked," becausepeoplepickedon him. Shecould notprovide who waspickingonHARRIS, or where this was occurring. She added that she felt she had talkedHARRIS out of killing himself severaltimes.

On approximately July of 1998,whichwas about the fifth time she saw HARRISandKLEBOLD at Funplex. they were again with fourotherboys that they were with often.MELISSA describedthem groupof six boysas sitting next to thearea where she was,inside Funplex. She said she overheard someof theirconversation as they were talkingaboutwhere they were going to placethe "bombs"in the "school,"and were pointing to a"map." She described this mapas beinga standard sizedpiece of paper (8.5»xl I") andthoughtit lookedhanddrawn, Her perception wasthat this map wasof the school as theywere talking about where they weregoing to place the bombsin the school. After hearingthis she said she left Funplex. MELISSA said at no timedid they discussanythingwithher about their plans. MELISSAcould not provide any namesfor the fourother boys, asshe did not know them as well as HARRIS and KLEBOLD. She again added that mostof the boys were wearingblack whenshe saw them.

MELISSA said she last saw HARRIS about fivemonths ago at Funplex. She said shedidn't stay long due to curfew as it was about 10:45pm. She said on this occasionHARRIS was again with KLEBOLD and two otherboysshe did not know.

MELISSA volunteered that she has "felt bad" abouthaving heard them planning the"bombing," and didn't do anythingabout it She saidshe did not haveany contact withanyone over the Internet and that they do not have a computerin their home. She alsodeniedbeingat ColumbineHigh School the day of the shooting, nor did she knowanyone talking abouthaving been there.

She said she spoke to a teacher, whose name she did not obtain, on April 20, 1999 about 11:50 to12:00following the shooting, LICHTENBERG believes he was a Psychologyteacher, Theteachertold her that he and another teacherwere away from the school at lunch when theshootingoccurred, but that on their way back to the school. they spoke with BROWN, who toldthemhe had seen Eric HARRIScarryingan "odd lookingduffel bag". officer employed by the District Attorney in the First Judicial

District serving Jefferson and Gilpin Counties. I am currently

assigned to assist in interviewing students from Columbine High

School.

On April 26, 1999 I spoke to 9th grade student Joey Renee

Marcotte.

Joey told me the following:

She was in the cafeteria eating her lunch and was sitting at

table E on the diagram which is attached. She was sitting with:

Joey had just finished her sandwich and was finishing her

lunch. She got to the cafeteria a little early. Her last class

ended at 11: 10, and she thinks she got to the cafeteria at about

11: IS. She heard shots outside. At first, she d.i.dn ' t know What

they were. She thought it was a senior prank. A janitor ran up to

her table and said to get down and said that "they" had a gun.

That's when she saw a "guy" run by with a gun in his hand. She got

down and crawled towards the stairs. She saw other people running

up the stairs and heard more shots. She said that she got under a

table by the stairs by the school store, on the far end of the

cafeteria. She was under the table and she said that shot gun

shells were by her legs and she heard a bunch of explosions. She

said that she heard a lot: of gun shots, but could not tell me how

many.

Joey said that one gun she saw was like a rifle. She said that

the blasts from the gun were making her hair move. They were

close. She said that bullets were wspraying". She said, "I just

crouched down there. I remember the very last blast because it blew

out the window. They were laughing as they threw the bombs and shot

people. They said today the world's going to come to an end.

Joey said that there was fire near her back. She aaLd , II I

looked around and t looked back. They were standing there smiling

and looking at what they had done." She left the cafeteria and ran

to the senior parking lot. She said that she ducked behind a car

and saw a policeman and felt safer.car and frisked.

She was then taken to a police

Joey said that she saw only one guy at first. He was wearing ablack trench coat. When asked if she recognized him. she said thathe looked like someone from school. She said that now she knows itwas Eric Harris. She said, ~Now that I think about it! it may have

been the trench coat, and not the fuzzy hair that I saw."

Joey said that when she saw the second person with Eric, it was

Dylan Klebold. She had recognized him from school. She firstrecognized his blonde hair.

Joey said that neither one of them had pack packs or duffle

bags when she saw them.

Joey's back pack is black. She left it in the cafeteria.

When she hid under the table, the people around her were gone.

She knows of no internet correspondence of Eric's and Dylan's.

When asked who else Eric and Dylan hung cut with, she said.'They hung out together.'

She said that Pauline Colby and Patrick McDuffy used to be part

of the group that hung with Eric and Dylan. She said that she had

heard from Pauline and Patrick that Dylan and Eric were starting toget into scme scary ideas and they stopped hanging around them. Thescary ideas that Joey knew about were playing paint ball and games

like that, and acting like they were ambushing people and play

violent video games. Joey is still friends with Pauline. Joey

said that she di~~'t see Pauline the day of the shooting, and hasn't

seen or talked to her since then. Joey said that although she is

friends with Pauline, she doesn't hang out with her after school.

Joey said that a friend of Pauline's hung out with "that group". butJoey didn't know Pauline (s friend (s name. Joey said that Patrick

doesn't go to CBS anymore. He goes ~o a different school now. He

picks up people from CBS every now and then. The people he picks up

are, Lydia Shofner, someone named Jesse (a girl) and a guy named

Evan. Lydia is a good friend of Joey's. Joey said that she didn't

see Patrick at school the day of the shooting. She said that she

didn't know Dylan and Eric, but had just seen them around the school.

Joey said that she remembered seeing the following people at

school that day:

Schneider, Brook Allison, Mrs. Mosier, Mr. Mosier, Mr. Tank, Steven

Joey said that she saw Eric and Dylan at school in the halls,

that morning. She said that didn't have a trench coat on.

Robin Anderson, who is the girlfriend of Dylan Klebold one of the

Ms. Reffel stated she was on the food committee for the AfterProm Party at Columbine High School on April 17, 1999. Judy Durkinanother person also was on the food committee. The food for themost part was being stored in the school refrigerator and freezer.

Ms. Reffel stated that on Saturday night before the kidsarrived for the After Prom Party sometime between 9 P.M. to 11 P.M.she went to take the food off some ice in the freezer. Upon openingthe freezer she saw a white propane gas tank approximately eighteeninches to two feet high in the freezer. It was setting on the floorwith a bunch of empty Pepsi cups stacked. on the cart. She firstthought that the propane tank was going to be used to blow up theballoons they were going to have for the party. However, she saidthe propane tank did not look like the oxygen tank she saw upstairs.

person with green hair wearing black leather. He was described asbeing 6 foot skinny with messy hair sticking straight up.

Ms. Reffel was asked if the kids, who attended the After theProm party had access to the rest of the school. Ms. Reffel statedthe party was from 12 midnight to 5 A.M. The school was open allnight. Anybody could have went anywhere in the school and let

anybody in. There was no security at the school. However, therewere other parents who were helping out with the party.

The school was also open on sunday for the clean up.

In addition we interviewed Linda Harris and her husband PhilHarris. Tr.ey were at Ms. Reffel' s residence and they also attended

the After Prom Party. Ms. Harris made the following statements.

Ms. Harris stated she was sitting in her car behind the schoolby the gym somewhere between 11,3Q P.M. to 12 Midnight, when she saw

two boys corne from the front of the school and tried to get in the

school by the doors in back.

On 04/20199, at about 12,30 hours, I become cwcre of a situcticn at Columbine High

School involving gunfire and explosions. The locerion of Columbine High School is 6201

South Pierce Street in Littleton. At about 1300 hours, Detective Stan Connally end I left

Ihe Lakewood pollee station enroute 10 assist the Jefferson County Sheriff's Deportment.

Upon our arrival, at about 1315 hours, we met Sergeant Girson, who was near the

intersection of Leawood Avenue and Pierce Street. Sergeant Girson obtained suspect

information via the rodic. Sergeant Girson assigned Detective Inskeep to accompany

other low enforcement officers to Ihe address of the home of the

suspect named Dylon Klebold. Sergeant Girson instructed Detective Stan Connolly, with

other law enforcement officers, to drive to home of the second

suspect, Eric Harris. At about 1340 hours, Detectives Inskeep and Connally deported

the scene and went to their respective locations.

At about 1440 hours, Sergeant Girson received a description of a suspect vehicle from

Detective Connally via the phone. Detective Connally learned that Eric Harris drove a

Honda Prelude, gray or brown in color and usually parked the vehicle in front of the

school in the lower lot.

I paged Detective Inskeep a couple of times so that he could provide informotion to

Jefferson County Investigator Kate Botton regarding pending search warrants on the

suspect's homes. At about 1500 hours, Detective loskeep answered my page and

coiled. The phone was hcnded to Investigator Botton who obtained the needed

information.

At 1620 hour>,Commander Debbie Granger, from the Jefferson County Critical Incident

Team, assigned me to conduct officer interviewsat Leawood Elementary School located

at 6155 West Leowood Drive, Littleton. Iwas assigned to interview DPD Officer George

Gray, Badge #86-008.

On 04/20199, at about 1708 hours, I interviewed Technician George Allan Gray.

Technician Gray stoted he has worked for DPD for the lost 13 years. The first 4 years

were spent in District #4. Following that, he spent 5 years in the gong unit. For the lost

'3 years, he has been a full-time SoNAT team member. Technician Gray stoted his

regular duties include support and cover for patrol units, warrant service and to handle

barricaded gunman situations. He stated he worb Detail 2,which is the day watch from

10,00 c.rn. to 6,00 p.rn, His normal days off are Sunday and Monday. Technician

Gray confirmed he had Monday, 04119199 off. He returned to work this morning at

10,00c.rn. and attended roll call. He said, about an hour later, he heard radio fraffic

from Canine Officer Tom O'Neill, who explained there had been shots fired at

Columbine High Scheel.

Technician Gray stated he took an unmarked cor from SWAT headquarters end drove

to Columbine High School. He parked near the intersection of Leawood Avenue and

Pierce Street where he met other S'NAT team members Henry Bloodworth, Tom O'Neill

and Jamie Smith. As Technician Grey changed into his SWAT gear, he heard radio

traffic of gunshots being fired inside the school. Denver SWAT Lieutenant Pat Phelan

and Captain Vince DiManna instructed the team they would be performing on

evacuation of the students.

Teehnkien Gray recoiled he and 10 to 12 other "i'NAT team members used a fire truck

as cover to approach the front doors of the school, which faced east. The fire truck was

perked about 25 vcrds from the front door and Technician Grey reeelled seeins bullet

holes in the windows and on open door, just south of the front door. Technicicn Gray

recoiled seeing what he believed was a student with his hands up against the glass,

north of the front door. Technician Gray said Captain DiManna and lieutenant Phelan

decided to move to the cafeteria side of the school, as that was where the last known

gunfire occurred.

Technician Gray stoted they moved around to the north side of the building and

eventually ended up at the west side entrance. Technician Gray recoiled seein,9 two

students, one of whom wos a male, and moving. The second student appeared to be

a female and was not moving. Techiclcn Gray saw an object necr the door which

appeared to be 0 propane bottle with objects affixed to the outside with block tope. He

said this device was nearest the moving victim.

Technician Gray stated Captain DiManna and Lieutenant Phelan ordered a four to five

man rescue team. Technician Gray said he was ordered by Captain DiManno and

Lieutenant Phelan to provide cover fire into the windows of the doors OS other team

members pulled the victim to safety. Technician Gray stated he fired approximately 16

to 18 rounds in controlled bursts at the windows with the intention of pinning down the

gunman whose location was unknown. Technician Gray stated Captain DiManna held

the shield in front and Lieutenant Phelan was behind the Captain. Technician Gray

recalled 0 Littleton officer or Sergeant Dan O'Shea being to the right of the shield.

The team advanced tc the male victim. The victim was grabbed and pulled back to the

fire truck. Technician Gray stated he fired about 4 rounds from his .9mm H & K MPS

Long Gun on the team's retreat. TechnicianGray said Captain DiManna end Lieutenant

Phelan made the decision to pull the second victim, the female who did not have signs

of life, bock to the fire truck. The team advanced a second time. Technician Gray

stated he fired 10 to 11 rounds From his MP5 at the same area as suppression fire. The

second victim was pulled to the fire truck.

Technician Gray said he saw a third victim, who appeared to be dead, near the bottom

or some stairs on that side of the building. Technician Gray said he scanned the second

floor windows but did not fire. He recalled Sergeant Dan O'Shea firing suppression

rounds into a window below the library. The victim was not alive, according to

Technician Gray.

Teehnieian Gray stated Lieutenant Phelan and Captoin DiManna agreed they should

withdraw and reorganize at the Command Post. TechnicianGray stated the rescue took

approximately 15 minutes.

Technician Gray said he did not rire at any other time with the MPS or with his Glock

.4Smm sidearm. Technician Gray went on to say he assisted in vacating end searching

the school,

Technician Gray stated he obtained at least 8 hours of sleep the night previous. He

stated he hod not consumed alcohol in the previous 24 hours. He stoted he hod token

one pill of Flexeril and three pills or 200 mg Ibuprofen for his leftwrist tendon which was

tender. He explained he wore a splint on his leftwrist at the time of the shooting. He

said his left hand WQ1 the support hand for the rifle and was not involved in

manipulating the trigger. Technician Groy stated he ete a full dinner of 04/19/99 at

about 1700 hours. He recalled eaung four Girl Scout cookies at about 10,00 p.m.,

when he took the pain pills mentioned previously. He added he was married, with four

children end there were no unusual problems at home. He stated work was going wet!.

He denied wearing contact lenses or glasses.

Technician Gray stated he is not only certified to carry the MP5 but he is an MP5

instructor. He has trained and carried the weapon for the last three years. He stated

he quo[ifies with the weapon 4 times a yeor. Technician Gray stated he has never been

in a police shooting himself but srered he had been in an incident in which his partner

fired his weapon on December 7, 1990. Following the shooting, Technician Gray stated

he spoke to team member Don Gilworth briefly. He stated no one else has handled his

MP5 since the incident.

Technician Gray stated he and the SWAT team practice •officer down" drills where

officers lay down suppression rounds to pin down the suspect whose location is

unknown. Technician Gray stated this maneuver provides rescue team members a

margin of safety.

On Tuesday, 04·20·99, myself, Detective M. Harper, Sgt. D. McCasky, Detective S. Connally, and Detective D.

Mowery, all with I.."D, assisted Jefferson County S.O. investigators with the search of the Harris residenceat.

I assisted with the search of the interior of the residence. Prior to gOing into the residence, myself

and Detective Harper walked the perimeter of the residence to ensure our safety and to Visually Inspect the

security of the residence. We found nothing to indicate anyone was present except pollee personnel and the

residence appeared to be secure on the backside.

While walking around the residence. I noticed on the east side of the residence, there was a large flat concrete

pad, surrounded by weed fence. This concrete area had scuffs and scratches on the concrete with numerous

pieces of glass. The concrete appeared to have been struck by glass objects, causing the scratches and scuff

marks.

Once inside the residence, I was assigned to a search team with Detective Harper, an Agent from the CBI, and

a Jefferson County S.O. Investigator. We searched the family room area (interior room - north of garage). In this

room, I observed an 8mm Sony video camera and case laying on the family room floor. In a 'secretary/bookcase"

wail unit, I found several paper documents which had information regarding Enc Harris. Some cf these papers

were seized.

After the family room, we went upstatrs to the bedroom area and searched the open loft area. No Items we,e

selzed from this area and It appeared to be used mostly by Eric Harris' mother.

Next. we went to the bedroom directly north and wastalthe upstairs area. This room appeared to belong toErlc's

older brother There were no items of evidentiary value removed from this room either

After these areas were searched, I assisted in the processing of Eric Harris' bedroom. I assisted mostly by

bagging ilems found by other investigators. i dkllocale a note on a table near Eric's bed which appeared to have

'ndicated a time line and the number of people he intended to kill at Columbine High School. This was left on the

rable to be photographed and was later seizec and booked.

The tapein the video player, was "Apocalypse NoW' I alsoobserved some books on a bookshelf withNazi war

themes (ie The Third Reich).

Afterassisting in thebasement area, t assisted with thecollection of the itemsin theupstairs bedroom, wherethe

computer was located. All computer disks from the bookcase in this bedroom were seized. as well as the

computer. monitor, and other computerrelated components.

At approx. 0000 hrs., on 04·21-99, other investigators arrived and the LPD Detectives left the residence after

assisting in carrying items collected in the house. All the items were carried out were placed in the Jefferson

County Investigator's vehicle and the vehicle was secured. LPD Detectives left the residence at approx. 0030

hrs..

!he Columbine Hign School incident at Bear Cl"!$k High SeMol. The first person I spokewith was Samantha

KRESGE, a studentat the schoct,

Samantha laid meon Monday or Tuesday, of thisweek (04-26-99 or 04-27·99), she was communicating with a

malesubject, Cameron Oothoudt. over e-mail andthe telephone, Samantha said shewas lold by Cameron, that

on Friday (04-30-99). aaar Creek High School was going to be attacxsc by the Trench Coal Mafia (TCM).

Samantha said sheasked Cameron how he knew, and hetold herhe had friends who are in the reM and they

toid him they were going to attack8CHS. Samantha added, Cameron told her later, that the rCM members he

. 'ew, did not actually tell him wt-at was going to happen. he only overheard ll1em saying what was going to

,lappen, I asked Samanll1a how she received this information, Samantha said she talked with Cameron on the

I asked Samantha if she knewif Cameron wsa on any medications. Samantha said Cameron laid her once, he

saw a psyChologis! and the psychologist told him hewas crazy. but he hasnever said anything aboutbeing on

any medications. I asked Samantha what she 1l10ught of cameron's statements. Samantha said Camercn is

' .•.really messed up and he doesn't care for people. Camaron is always talking about how he breaks peopie's

necks on his computergamesl Cameron is a 'dumb ass' and he is really weirdI' I asked Samantha whatshe

meantby ' ...really weirdJ' Samantha said she is a part of the 'Goll1ics'a! SCHSand they know theyaresocial

outcasts. Samantha said Camercn is even considered •...way out there - even further than the People I hang

with!' I asked Samantha what type aT music andcomputer games Cameron likes to play with. Samantha said

Cameron mostiy listens to Marilyn Manson,Tool. Rommstein. Ministry, Mega Deat.,. and Metalliea. The only

computergames (bethPC and Playslation games) weresome type of spygamewhereyou sneak up on people

.",mantha said Cameron's best mends are Shawn Hennigan and Joe Dingledine. Samantha added, Joe's

currentiy a student at BCHS, but Shawn is out of school for medical reasons. I asked Samanthaif she knew if

Cameron hada girlfriend at the sohool or not. Samantha saidcameron's eX"9infriend is a 9111 named "Crystal",

butdid no! know her last name. Samantha was released to return class, after I requested she not dlscuss this

inTormation with anyone else.

Detective Dietel interviewed Joe Dingledine at BCHS. See his supplemental report for infonmatlon on thiS

interview. Theotherstudentwith information, Sarah Flint, was Interviewed by AgentHunt at 6CHS. Nofollew-up

interview was concucted with Sarah.

After 8CHS, Detective Oietel,.a JCSO Deputy Sheriff, and I went to 4613 So, Devinney St., and contacted

Cameron Octhcuct. Cameron was home with his father, 1imothy Oothoudt. I requested to speakWIth both

Cameron andhis fatherandtheyagreed. Cameron told us hE! wasexpecting us. WhenI askedhow he knew we

were coming. he said his mendJoe had called twenty minutes priorand told himwe had been at SCHS and ware

asking questions aboutCameron. Also at the residence, wasSean Hennigan. Detective Dietelwentupstairs and

.tarviewed Sean, while I talked with Cameron and his father.

confronted cameron with his statement and aSked howheknew it was sarah and Samantha. Cameron denied

hesaid that. and then said he nlt\fermade thestatements about BearCreek beinga target. cameron did admit

he is mendswith sarah, but statedshe is always making things up about him and trying 10 get himinto trouble.

I continued to confront Cameronwith thestatement hemade and he tried to change hiswords around and I again

confronted rurn with rns exact statement. Cameron never offered an answerto thequestion and said ;,e didnot

"remember" ever saying anything about BearCreek being a larget. I talkedwittl Cameron moreabout howhe

found out BearCreek was a target and who heknew in the rCM. Cameron said hedid not know anyone in ths

Plaza Mall. cameron did not know any of theIrnames. but believes they are part of the rCM group. I asked

Cameron to tell me exaet!y what he heard. Cameron said he heard BCl-iS was to be a target on Monday, but

nothing bappened, so the daywas changed to Fl1day (04-30-99), as this is the day HitlerdleC. Cameron said he

also heard Chatfield and Lakewood High were targets and could not tell me who he heard Ihis trcm. I asked

Cameron when he heard this and he saidabouttwo days after the Columbine incident. I again asked cameron

who heknew was involl/ed in the discussions at SWPlaza and he said he did not know any of ttleir names. but

•...just heardpeople talking!' 1again asked Cameron Why hemade the statements to cecete about SCHS being

targeted. Cameron again said he just heard peopie hedoesn't know talking aboutit.

I began toquestion Cameron abouttwo suoiects. who's names came upInotherconversations. I asked cameron

Who Bobby Hillboume was. Cameron said BCbby'is a friend ofhis and he is a part of thereM. Iasked cameron

Where Bobby lives. Cameron saidhe heard, about one week ago, Bobby left,just afterthe incident at Columbine

HS,andwentona seven day camping trip to Utah. I asked Cameron how long it hadbeensince he talked or saw

Bobby. Cameron said two to three months, that he only hears how Bobby is doingfrom Greg Philips. I asked

I askedCameron wne GregPhiOps was. Cameron said another friendof his, who is also a partof the TCM, who

is a close friend of Bobby's, Cameron said, however. Greg moved to Vail. several weeks ago, when his

grandmother became ill and he moved backto Vail with his mother. I asked Cameron when the last timewashe

talked to Of saw Greg, Cameron said he talked with Greg theothernight and that was when he leamed about

Boobygoing on the camping trip.

Thenextllling I talked to Cameron about,washisinvolvementwith explosives orweapcns. Cameron saidhehas

never tried to make a bomb and hasnevertalked atlO\lt bomb making. Cameron. wllllol.lt being asked, toldme

hewouldnotevenknowwhere to go on the Internet to find sucn information. Cameron also added. he doesnet

have any books to tell him who to do so. The only weapons Cameron said he has. is a paint bail gun. Mr.

Oothoudt spoke up and saidhe could verify there were noweapons or explosives in the resicence.because he

doesnot believe In themandwouldneverallow them in hishcuse. Cameron also laid me he only knows of a ie«

.ple who have the 'Anarchist's Coo/¢ook" Cameron said a mend. RobertStanley, Greg Phillips, and Bobby

Hillbcume. Cameron said. unsolicited, he doesnot haveaccess to this typeof infonma~on. and has never triad

gelling thisinformation from the library.

I requested permiSSIOn to take a look inside Cameron's room. Both Cameron and his father agreed. Upon

cheCking the room,several books on wiccaOfwitchcraft were found. Cameron does not navea trenchcoat, but

",as a black waist leng1llleathercoat. with patches on it No weapons or materials used In making explosive

devices were tccatec. Theroomwas fairlyclean andthecloset androom wasfairly organized andnot full of mise,

debris.

Based on the infonmation we gbtalned. we left the residence and no enforcement action was taken. The

infonmation In this reportwas forwarded to Sgt Glrson and Mr. Taibi. an Asst. Prlncipai at BCHS. No additional

information at this time.

I WAS APPROACHED BY AN UNKNOWN FEMALE ADULTWHO SAID THAT TWO FEMALE STUDENTS HAD WITNESSED THE INITIAL ASSAULT ON THESECOND FLOOR. I SPOKE WITH BROOKE SKINNER AND PAGE .~LISON WHO SAID TFATTHEY WERE IN A MR CRAM'S (SP?) SCIENCE CLASS ON THE SECOND FLOOR WHEN THEYHEARD THE SOUND OF GUNFIRE. BROOKE SKINNER SAID THAT MR CRAM STEPPED OUTro LOOK AND THE LAST SHE SAW. MR CRAM HAD FALLEN TO THE FLOOR. BROOKESKINNER AND PAGE ALLISON SAID THAT T~EY THEN R&~ FROM THE ROOM AND AS THEYDID. THEY SAW ONE SUSPECT ARMED WITH A RIFLE. THE SUSPECT WAS SHOOTING ATTHE STUDENTS AND BROOKE SKINNER SAID HE WAS A WHITE MALE. WEARING DARKCLOTHING WITH SOME TYPE OF LARGE BELT AROUND HIS WAIST. S\lbject incustody asLarry Scott Petry,Date ofBirth 09·20·71 Agt. McNitt said that he was on duty andresponded to

the scene of the Columbine shooting to assist and wasestablishing a perimeter nearthe Jefferson County Library,

At approximately 1015 hours, 4~sorMonsoor requested thatCriminalist Bohan and I respond to , Littleton, CO, to assistthe Jefferson County Sheriff's Dept. 1n execution of a search warrant, inconju.~ction with the JeffCo Critical Incident Team. Criminalist Behan and Iresponded and arrived at approximately 1100 hours, 4/21/99.

Upon arrival, we met Deputy Tim Walsh of the Jefferson County Sheriff'seffice, Also present were members of the Arap~~oe county Eomb s~~ad and theFEI, The residence is in a verj secluded location, with a long driveway fromCougar Rd. The primary house is a multi level, gray siding structura with athree car garage, The tennis and basketball oourts are on the north side andthe main entrance is along the east side of the residence, at the south endof the home. There is an additional st-~cture to the south of the primarJresidence that also has gray siding and numerous windows. At approximately1140 hours, a detective from the Jeffeo Sheriff's Dept. arrived with a signedsearch warrant. At that time, the Arapahoe County Bomb Squad and the FBI,tered the residence to secure it and declare ~~e area safe to enter and..arch,

?arked on the exterior of the residence, on the north side, is a blackBMW 3201. 'rhis vehicle has no registration plates and the interior ispartially gutted. There are numerous stickers on the car. ~hese stickersare: 1) the Chemical Brothers, 2) Rammstein, 3) Marilyn Manson, 4) KMFDMNAIVE, 5) NIN (the second 'N' is back~ards). It does not appear that thisvehicle was used for any transportation.

At approximately 1200 hours, I was requested to assist the bomb squadunit by attaining photographs. Some devices were found in the bedroom whereit is believed that the suspect resided. Overall photographs were obtainedof a gray box and some other inoendiary devioes. The box, a small cash box,contained two pipe bombs. We then exited the residence, pending thecomp1~tion of the sweep by the bomb squad.

I was advised that the pool house was cleared. We proceeded to the poolarea and obtained overall photo~raphs of the pool and the pool house. I wasfurther advised that the guest house was also clear. The ~~est house is thestructure i::n:mediataly to the south of t;,e main residence. I entered thebuilding and obtained overall phot.cqr-apris of its interior. The buildin~consists of a living area, a small kitohen, a small bath and a 10ft with abed and a small closet. The interior was extremely neat and organized.

an area where an apparent device had been detonated earlier. I obtainedoverall and detailed color photographs of the remnants of this device. Itemswere seized. These items consisted of shotgun wads and a small electronicdevice.

Once the bomb squad had declared the interior of the residence safe, weentered the home to conduct the search. I first obtained overall photographsof the entire residenCe.

The home is a three story structure with the main entrance entering intothe middle level. The middle level consisted of a family room, living room,two offices, an art stUdio, the master bedroom and the kitchen/dining area.The upper level consisted of two bedrooms and a bath. The lower levelconsisted of a laundry room, a gymnasium and the garage.

The focus of the search was in one of the bedrooms on the upper level.~vidence inside this bedroom indicated that this is ~here Dylan, one of the

uspectis , resided. Numerous articles were seized during the search. Iobtained photographs during the search. All artiCles seized ware maintainedby the Jefferson county Sheriff's Dept. Other detectives searched tharemainder of the residence. Several articles were aJ.so s ,ized fre.n theremainder of the home. At the conclusion of the search, I cc ca i.nedadditional overall photographs depicting the condition of the residence. Ialso obtained a photograph showing the presenoe of the searoh warr~nt andcopies of the inventory. We exited the residence at 1645 hours, a~ whichtime the Jefferson county Sheriff's Dept. detectives secured the residence.

At the conclusion of the search, I turned over to the Sheriff's Dept. ,s i.x rolls of fillll and one VHS tape. Criminalist Bohan had obtainedvideographic coverage of the search. A receipt, which is attached, wasobtained for the evidence turned oVer to the Sheriff's Dept.

On 04120199, at approximately 1600 hours, I responded to 6201 South Pierce Streetto assist

in reference to the shooting at Columbine High School. I arrived on scene with several othel"

lakewood police agents who hod also responded. I was then requested by Sergeant Randy West

of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Deportment to assist with the execution of a search warrant at the

residence of Eric Hams, one of the suspects in this case.

I responded to the address with Deputies Craig Scboske and Cheryl

Zimmerman, arriving at 1920 hours. We were first met by Jefferson County Deputy Scottwho hod

secured the perimeter. Deputy Scott advised that no one hod been inside the residence since it hod

been seeured. Also present were Lakewood Detectives SIan Connally, Dave Mowery, Mike

Greenwell, and Mitch Harper, and littleton Crime lab personnel Jessica Barrett and Bruce Adorns.

":huck Davis from the Colorada Bureau of Investigations later responded to assist with the search.

After the residence wos photographed by Liltleton Crime lab personnel, we entered the

residence to execute the search warrant. The residence isa two story house with a basement located

on a cul-de-sac. I then assisted with the search of the kitchen, family room, and formal dining area.

Items seized from these areas included Cl Columbine High School class schedule for Eric Harris which

was attached to the refrigerator by a magnet. Also seized were high school photographs of Eric

Hams along with his graduation announcements which were located on the dining room table. An

address list of people the announcements were being sent was also seized. On the table in the living

room was e drawer containing severol dccumeres regarding Eric Hams' high school dato were also

seized.

There was a shed detached from the main home in the back yard that was also searched. This

shed was searched with the assistonce of an ATF agent identified by (I First name of Mati. 1did not

obtain Matt's last name during the secrch, In the shed was located two PVC white pipes whichwere

seized. ACtording to the ATF agent, these could have possibly been used in the making of the pipe

bombs.

I next responded to the bcsement area to assist with the search of the suspect's bedroom. Due

to the size of the area and the dose quarters, I did not actively participate in this secrch. FBI Agent

Mark Holslaw arrived on scene with Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Don Estep and Attorney

General Investigator Gary Klineman. These three assisted with the search of Harris' bedroom. At

one point, the ATF agent located what he believed to be a bomb in the bedroom. Members of the

bomb squad responded end defused this particular device. During my participation in the search,

I did not view the device that was located.

Chuck Davis from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation disrnentied 0 computer located in a

second level bedroom/office of the residence. All items seized from the residence were placed in the

vehiclebelonging to Deputy Craig Schoske. Also during the search, lakewood Detective Gregg Slater

responded to assist with the search af the residence.

The garage was searched as well as a Toyota Camry located in the garage. During the search

of the garage, it was noted that there was a very heavy smell of gasoline. lakewood Detective Mike

Greenwell noted that on the side of the residence on a concrete slop there were particles of glass.

It was reported that neighbors hod heard Eric Harris breaking glass in the previous days. It was

unknown whot this glass was used for, but speculotion was it was used in the pipe bombs.

We cleared the residence at 0010 hours on 04121199, while the Jefferson County sheriff's

deputies continued the search of the Eric Harris' bedroom. The remainder of the house had been

searched, and no further action was required. We then responded to the command post at

Columbine High School and contacted Sergeant West who advised us to return in the moming to

assist with the investigation.

On 04121/99, we responded to Columbine High School where we stood by for instructions.

It was then requested that lakewood detectives contact some of the victims who were in area

hospitals. At this time, I responded ta Swedish Medical Center with Detectives Slater, Wilson, and

Inskeep. Due ta the condition of the victims, we were unable to speck with them. Detective Slater

and I did speck with the parents of Valeen Schnur. See Detective Slater's report for further

information regarding this interview.

Detective Inskeep and I next responded to lutheran Medical Center to contact victims who

..'ere being treated there. Upon arrival, we were advised that all the victims had been released. We

then left a serious bodily injury statement to be completed by the physicians. This statement wcs to

be faxed to us as soon as it was completed.

Detective Inskeep and I then responded to St. Anthony Central Hospital where we met with

Detectives Slater and Wilson. Detectives Slater and Wilson had spoken with some parents cnd had

obtained all the information possible at this particular time. Once this was completed, we responded

to the lakewood Police Department and completed no further action in this case on 04/21/99.

On 04123199, I responded to Columbine High School where I was present during a meeting

with several investigators who were working on this case. Once this meeting concluded, my

involvementwith this investigation else concluded No further action token ot this time.

On 5/18199, I contactedJeffersonCounty Schools AreaAdministrator, Barb Monseu, and requested any

information she might have on cafeteria employee by the nameofMs. Caruthers. She said that she had no

'1rmation on such an employeebut would provideme with information on the manager and other employees

ofthe kitchen. On 5/19/991 receiveda fax transmission fromNancyCook for Barb Monsen with a listof the

ColumbineHigh Schoolcafeteriaworkers, Ms. Caruthers is not on that list.

The phrase "Today will not be a goodday" was the thought of the day, on the RNNor Rebel

News Network.

LEAP NARRATIVE

The Rehel News Networkis actually a school sponsored program of the schools video

production class. The class instructor is:

Mr. Talocco teaches video production, the first three periods of the day. (Current class lists are

attached) At the beginningof thesecond period of schoola program is aired to the school on the

schools video network. The program broadcasts currentschool newsand events. The program

also does various future programs on various itemsof interestto the students. These features are

normally run on Fridays. Theprogram is mainly run by the students. who write,direct, and act

as camera operatorsandon camera announcers. The only staff involvement is by GaryTalocco

who states that since the program is done every morningthe studentsare running it by

themselves, and hejust overseas it for content. GaryTalocco stated I wouldneed to speak with

the students to determine what the"thought" or "phraseof the day" wason the day of the

incident. Gary Talocco wasdefensive and stated he had beeninterviewed twice before but not

on this subject.

The rebel News Network broadcasts are not recorded, so no record of whatactuallywas

broadcast is available.

Rissmiller confirmed that no tapewas madeof theshow on Tuesday or any of the shows the

previous week. Rissmiller stated they hadbeenjoking around with the fact that April20"is the

marijuana smoking day. The show hadmadereference to the "international day to smoke

marijuana" as he put it and the jokeswere aboutmarijuana. Rissmiller was not sure whatthe

phrase of the day had beenbut he had wanted to LISe "You don't want to be here today 4/20 4/20

4120" Makingreference to the 20'" beinga marijusna smokeing day. He is unsure of what

phrase was actually used. Rissmiller stated the showmadeno reference to Hitler, and he was

unaware it was Hitler's birthday until afterthe incident. He stated the broadcasts are done

without scriptsand much of the broadcast is similardayto day so only minimal notesare used

andare not saved. Rissmiller statedwhenthe incident took place he was supposed to be in

marketing class but had goneto TacoBell with Dave Macone for an early lunch.

John Flemming is responsible for the audio for the RNN. Flemming Slated he remembered the

phrase of the day to be "Row can they expect us to be In school today:' During the incident

Flemming was in the Tech lab, He heard what he thought were fireworks and possibly a senior

prank. The fire alarms also went off about the same time, Flemming and other students started

to exit the room at the direction of Mr. Tucker, a teacher, and ran out a north door of the

school, by Clement park. They then climbed the fence by the smokers pit and continued to the

parking lot at Clement park. After Flemming climbed the fence, he thought he heard bombs

going off. Flemming stated he had been in video class first semester with Eric Hams, but they

were not friends. According to Flemming, Harris would occasionally show up in video class

this semester. Sometimes Dylan Kliebold would be with him but Flemming did not feel either

was actually enrolled in the class. Flemming stated he did remember seeing a music video that

Eric Harris had done asa project the first semester. The video was very violent and had clips

form Terminator and Starship Troopers and other very bloody gun battles. Flemming stated he

thought it was a little violent but did not think much of it at the time, Flemming is unaware

where a copy of this music video is.

Eric Veik was in chargeof the graphics for the RNN on theday of the incident. He staled that

thephrase was initially something like, "Quit yourBitchin''. Veik couldnot remember who

came up with the originalphrase. Veikstated he changed theprhase of the day because he did

not feel the original phrasewas appropriate. Veik madethe phrase"How can you expect us to

stay in school on a day like today?" Veik actuallytyped in the phrase to the graphics generator

and stated that he often "cleaned up" the phrases. Veik stated the phrases are not approved by

anyone and thewbole-broadcast is leftup to the students10 keep within limits. Veik stated he

had come up with the phrasebecause the weatherhad beenbad for some time and was expected

to bevery nice.

Selchert was part of the RNN broadcastand operated a cameraon the day of the incident, as he

normally did. Selchertstated he had already been interviewed but couldnot remember by who.

Ryanwas concernedabout a "Spirit Video thathe hadbeen incharge of and was a "Friday

Feature" on the RNN, This video involved Dan Holsie, MikeVandania, Nile Romanyshan and

EricHarris. The video involved a studentdepicting an anonymous other team, running down a

hill in the park (actually filmed at Clementpark) andbeingbeatenup byColumbine students.

Selchert states the video is probably in the videoproduction area Or in his backpack. He also

added on MondayApril 19'" 1999 he was walking withsomefriends nearthe Library and saw

EricHarris. Selchertstated Harris appeared to be looking around and Selchert asked Harris

"What's up?", Harris responded "Planningfor tomorrow." Selchertthought Harris was just

planning for another video and kept on walking, withno further conversation with Harris.

Selchert stated he had already given a complete statementto another detective.

Gary Taloccoprovideda list of his video students, but did not have an actual list of those present

for the RebelNews Network broadcast on April 20, 1999, Talocco stated that the students are

not assignedto specificjobs for the broadcastand that it is voluntary and they "...pretty much

run it themselves,"
