The Boeing 234 Chinook“Combi” helicopter has set anew standard in fighting wild-fires. Not only can it now carryup to 19 fire fighters and theirequipment, it maintains theability to drop up to 3,000gallons of water on forest fires.The helicopter carries a 2,600-gallon Bambi bucket for rapiddeployment on fires. As a resultof it’s massive 26,000-poundlifting capacity, it is also capableof carrying bulldozers and otherfire equipment.
