In fact, it’s considered the third Sunday in ordinary time. It is also the season of epiphany, when we celebrate Jesus coming for all people. So what makes it ordinary? Well I think it’s a misnomer. This ‘ordinary’ season calls us to remember the ministry of Jesus - a ministry of miracles and teachings. I don’t believe there is anything ordinary in that! Our re- sponse to this ‘ordinary time’ is to focus on following Jesus, on obedi- ence to His teachings, and to watching God at work in our world. There was nothing ordinary about the time of Jesus ministry, and there is noth- ing ordinary now - God is still at work! This Sunday Pastor Ben will be bringing us back into our series on Colos- sians. This series will continue until a few weeks before Easter. I hope as we study Colossians, we are challenged and encouraged in what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. I’m just coming back from a week of retreat where I had the chance to pray, reflect, and study. I spent time studying both the book of Ezekiel (an amazing book!) and going deeper into the book of Mark. What a blessing to have time to step out of routine and just focus on God in prayer and study. Thank you as a church, for making that possible. Mike’s Thoughts… This week is just an ‘ordinary’ Sunday in the church calendar. Our re-sponse to this ‘ordinary time’ is to focus on following Jesus, on obedi-ence to His teachings, and to watching God at work in our world. There was nothing ordinary about the time of Jesus ministry, and there is noth-ing ordinary now - God is still at work!

This Sunday Pastor Ben will be bringing us back into our series on Colos-sians. This series will continue until a few weeks before Easter. I hope as we study Colossians, we are challenged and encouraged in what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.
