LETTER FROM THE STATE WORTHY PRESIDENT
Brothers and Sisters,
Brothers and Sisters Well summer is over and fall is in the air, football games, especially the Broncos are just about on everyone’s mind. I hope this finds all of us in good health. The state park was a good af-fair this year, thanks to all who came out to have fun, Sherril and I got an unexpected shower thanks to Jim Young and Willy Rick. It took me a little while to dry out. I think I got the most of the water but oh well, we did manage to raise a little money for our charities in doing so and I’ll do just about anything to raise money for my charity. I want to thank John and Sandi Moyle for the fund raiser they had at Pikes Peak 143 on behalf of my charity ALS and CNI institute which is located in Westminster, Colorado and does the research for ALS and numerous other neurological diseases. I don’t have the total figure of their fund raiser, but I heard the food was great and every-one had a great time that attended. If your Aerie is having a fund raiser for ALS let me know I will try my best to attend. I want to ask you all to do your best in bringing in new members. There is a new car or $15,000.00 to any member that brings in a new member as well as many other very nice rewards from the GWP and GMP, who knows it could be your name they draw out of the barrel at the end of the year. For those who don’t know with every member you bring into the order your name is put into the drawing for a chance at the new car. We are still
pushing hard to grow our membership so lets figure out how to keep our members from dropping by the way-side. Let’s all try to be more welcom-ing to each other and show respect to one another. We all have a story and no one is any better than another, re-member we all took that oath when we were initiated. We are all equal when we walk through the Aerie doors, which means as State Presi-dent I am no better than anyone else as an Eagle member, I just hold a title which means the world to me. Four corners will be over by the time you read this, but State Worthy Vice President Tom Roberts and I will be attending and will do our best to rep-resent Colorado as best we can. La-mar anniversary is also the same weekend and State Worthy Chaplain George Duran will be attending in my absence as my representative. We have Aurora and Fall Conference upcoming and I hope to see a lot of you at either or both of these func-tions. I wish all of you a very great month and be safe in all you do so we have that opportunity to see each oth-er and enjoy our friendship. Fraternally, Dan Urenda [email protected] 719-251-7399

Letter from the State Madam President
Auxiliary Corner Dear Sisters,
Happy Fall! Don't you just love our beau-
tiful colors!!
Labor Day weekend we had our annual
campout. We had a great turnout and the
weather was Awesome! Thank you to Mike
Peek, Marty Hall and Gary Turner for all
of their hard work.
Grand Madam President Penny Skinner
started her Colorado visitation on Sep-
tember 20th. We started the day with a
wonderful breakfast at Aurora. Thank
you to Angie and her committee for
breakfast. Thank you to Trish Ham for
picking up Penny at the airport and thank
you to everyone who came to visit with
Penny. We then went to Englewood for a
lite lunch. The food was great as well as a
fun filled afternoon of conversation and
socializing. Thank you to Madam President
Deb Gile and her committee for every-
thing. You did a great job and the turnout
was awesome. On September 21st we
were at Pueblo 145 for dinner and their
meeting. Dinner was delicious and they
initiated 4 new sisters. Thank you to Di-
anna Clay for escorting Penny to Pueblo
for me. Thank you Madam President Mary
Pratt and your committee. Everything was
wonderful! On September 22nd Penny
traveled to Eastside 3260. Thanks to
Brenda Long and Kathy Warmuth for es-
corting Penny to Colorado Springs. Madam
President Jenni Holiday prepared a won-
derful enchilada dinner. Thank you to
Jenni and her committee for a wonderful
evening. The following Auxiliaries pre-
sented Penny with donations to her spe-
cial project, The ARC of Harrison County.
Aurora 3224, Englewood 3241, Pueblo
145, Florence 169, Steel City 3367 and
Eastside 3260. Thank you to all of my
sisters that came out to meet Penny.
On September 24th I left for the Four
Corners Conference. Friday September
25th was the ritual competition. There
were 4 teams from Arizona and
Utah. The meeting was held on Saturday
September 26th. State Worthy Presi-
dent Dan Urenda and myself had the hon-
or of presenting the Colorado flag at the
joint opening. The meetings were well
attended. We had 23 from Colora-
do. Four Corners Regional President
Brenda Kozlowski asked me to do a
presentation on Ritual. We all know how
important Ritual is to our order. We must
continue doing our ritual at our meetings
to continue to thrive. Regional Presi-
dent's Sean Pearson from Sunnyslope
2957 and Brenda Kozlowski from Pleasant
Grove 3372 did an awesome job presiding
over our meetings. I forgot about our new
sister Anita Margarita. She competed in
the Miss Four Corners competition and
won! Actually it was Willy dressed up like
a woman. It was all in fun and the con-
testants raised over $400 for Camp Civi-
tan, our Regional President's charity.
Don't forget about Fall Conference to be
held at Pueblo 145 October 16th - 18th.
See you soon!
Fraternally,
Sherril Rick

Northwest held a Dinner/ Fund-raiser on August
28th, and raised a total of $892.00, earmarked for
State Park Maintenance. There was also a separate,
second check issued for $50.00, which was donated
by the 4019 Aerie. The Dinner itself actually earned
$582.00. The 50/50 total was $410, which made the
winners share $205.00 State Worthy President Dan
Urenda was the winner, and he immediately donat-
ed back $105.00. So between the dinner - $582.00,
Fund-raisers half of the 50/50 - $205.00., and Dan's
donation - $105.00, the total came to
$892.00! Thank you - Don Goodman
