color solutions - what we do
DESCRIPTION
In this presentation CSI shows how they support every step from the fashion design process to the finished product with their design tools and their color communication service.TRANSCRIPT
1. Inspiration
The process starts with the design inspiration. Using sources from the runway, trend services, magazines, and the CSI Seasonal Inspirations, designers can pick the color and mood for their palettes.
2. SpecificationOnce the Palette is communicated to the CSI team, electronic and visual searches against the ColorWall™ and the Color Library are performed. Submits are sent to the customer and await response for approval. If the color submits are not approved, the customer can have the color custom dyed to the inspiration piece specific to their light source.
3. InterpretationFollowing the completion of the customer’s palette decisions, CSI offers many different ways in communicating each color according to the customer’s needs. Each color goes through a quality control process to ensure that each piece of fabric is within the specs required by the customer. Only the pieces that pass within tolerance will be processed into carded standards for the vendors and mills, or design tools for internal communication.
Certified color standards can be ordered through a web based platform. They include an electronic file with the spectral data of the color. Using the Certified Standards the lab dips can be reduced and the color approval process is faster and more efficient.
4. Realization
In the end the garment with the
perfect design colors is shipped
to the retail stores.
All CSI color standards are matched using
environmentally friendly DyStar dyes.
The final stage includes shipping the certified color standards and the technical support of the production process by the global DyStar and CSI technicians. The color experts from DyStar and CSI help with engineered formulations for different substrates.
