Colony that represents the Northern colonies: New Hampshire founder of New Hampshire Captain John Mason. Under an English land grant, Capt. John Smith sent settlers to establish a fishing colony at the mouth of the Piscataqua River, near present-day Rye and Dover, in 1623. Capt. John Mason, who participated in the founding of Portsmouth in 1630, gave New Hampshire its name. After a 38-year period of union with Massachusetts, New Hampshire was made a separate royal colony in 1679. As leaders in the revolutionary cause, New Hampshire delegates received the honor of being the first to vote for the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

Abundant water power turned New Hampshire into an industrial state early on, and manufacturing is the principal source of income. The most important industrial products are electrical and other machinery, textiles, pulp and paper products, and stone and clay products. Dairy and poultry, and growing fruit, truck vegetables, corn, potatoes, and hay are the major agricultural pursuits. The government of the Colony of New Hampshire was a constitutional monarchy.

Colony that represents the Middle colonies: Pennsylvania Founder of Pennsylvania William Penn. One of the original 13 colonies, Pennsylvania was founded by William Penn as a haven for his fellow Quakers. Pennsylvania’s capital, Philadelphia, was the site of the first and second Continental Congresses in 1774 and 1775, the latter of which produced the Declaration of Independence, sparking the American Revolution. After the war, Pennsylvania became the second state, after Delaware, to ratify the U.S. Constitution.

In the American Civil War, Pennsylvania was the site of the Battle of Gettysburg, in which Union General George Meade defeated Confederate General Robert E. Lee, bringing an end to the Confederacy's Northern invasion, as well as Lincoln's famous Gettysburg Address. The colonial government, established in 1682 by Penn's Frame of Government, consisted of an appointed Governor, the proprietor a 72-member Provincial Council, and a larger General Assembly.

Colony that represents the Southern Colonies: South Carolina Founder of South Carolina King Charles II. The Province of South Carolina was originally part of the Province of Carolina in British America, which was chartered by eight Lords Proprietor in 1663. Charles Towne was established in the province in 1663. The colony was given to a group of eight nobles called "The Lord's Proprietors". The colony of South Carolina had a constitutional Monarchy and had a General assembly. The colony of South Carolina and North Carolina ended up fighting a war to break away from the British.

Northern Colonies: The climate of the New England Colonies was colder than the other two colonial regions because they were the farthest north. The natural resources of the New England Colonies included fish, whales, trees and furs. The natural resources were more important than agricultural crops to colonists in New England because of poor, rocky soil and the short growing season.

Southern Colonies: The climate of the Southern Colonies was the warmest climate of the three colonial regions. The warmer climate was a positive factor for the colonists in the Southern Colonies. They didn't worry as much about surviving cold winters. The natural resources of the Southern Colonies included rich farm land, forests and fish.

Middle Colonies: There was more religious freedom in the Middle Colonies than in New England. No single church or religion dominated in the Middle Colonies.

Each was 'a new society,' an experiment in colonization, but for those in New England, it was a conscious effort to forge a new Nation, a haven for their religious beliefs & values.

All the colonies were Religious in a Religious Age but each colony had differing predominant faiths.

Current day trend with colonial New Hampshire: The religion really helped the colony of New Hampshire establish into a strong religious state of today.

Current day trend with colonial Pennsylvania: With the diversity of then colonial Pennsylvania that has helped the state of Pennsylvania become a major city with just whites but with minorities as well.

Current day trend with Colonial South Carolina: The good fertile land and rich soil really helps South Carolina produce a lot of crops and agriculture that a lot of other states and the original thirteen colonies needed back then which was Tobacco, Soybeans, Cotton and grains. They also produced livestock which included Turkeys, beef cattle and calves, chicken eggs, and hogs.

The colony that I would like to live in colonial America would be the colony of New Hampshire because they didn’t have a lot of authority from the British and they had a good manufacturing and agriculture producing area. Plus the land of New Hampshire was small and spacious with only a few neighbors nearby, the colony of New Hampshire. The Government was a constitutional monarchy which means it still has the same constitution but now just ratified from when it became a state.
