Library of Champions Vol. VIII The Editor Karen Anderson, is working feverishly on the next volume of the LOC. She needs to have your photos ASAP for your Collies that finished their AKC Championship during the year 2004 - 2010. We want this book to be complete with no Collies left out. This is a permanent record and is the history of our breed. You can either snail mail or email you photo (300 dpi) to Karen. Please include the sire, dam, breeder(s), owner(s) as of the year the dog finished. If you mail the photo, please include a SASE to return your photo. We are trying to contact people personally, but you may be missed. So please take it upon yourself to make sure your dog is included in this great part of Collie history. If you have any questions, either email or call Karen at the con-tact information below.

Volunteer for 2014 CCA National Keep in mind when planning for the 2014 CCA National that volunteers are still needed. Consider giving an hour or two at the armband table with a buddy. Perhaps you’d like to work as an obedience ring steward? The CCA National is a huge event and relies on the participation of many, plus its fun! Contact Laura LaBounty at [email protected] for more infor-mation regarding volunteer opportunities.

2014 CCA National Specialty

Fundraising Borrowing from a successful terrier fundraiser, we will be selling decks of playing cards. These cards will feature candid photos of Collies. Would you like your dog’s photo included in the deck? Easy – we are selling the picture space on the number cards (2-10 in all 4 suits) for $75 each. Jack, Queen, and Kings are $175. Aces in all 4 suits are $250 and the 2 Jokers are $150 each. A short line of type is included on each card that could be the dog’s registered name or something like “Gracie, Queen of our hearts” or “Jumping Jack Flash” or “Laddie is a 10 to me”.

We are accepting card reservations at the CCA’s table at the 2013 Na-tional. You can also check out the 2014 National page on Facebook or email Laura LaBounty at [email protected] Remember, there are only 54 cards available!

*Flash* The first deck sold out so quickly, we offered a second deck. There are still a few cards left if you would like your dog’s photo in-cluded.

The decks will be available to purchase this fall. Candy Ardizzone is in charge of this. We expect the decks will be sold at $10 each. Printed decorative tins that hold 2 decks may be available. You can check out the 2014 National page on Facebook or email Laura LaBounty at [email protected]. Remember, there are only 54 cards available!
