will be removed. (See Chapter 1, Section 20 of the AKC Herding Regulations).

American Kennel Club Rules regarding Conduct will be strictly enforced.

This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the official AKC entry

form for this event.

PLEASE FILL OUT ENTRY FORM LEGIBLY AND COMPLETELY.

There will be no refunds for duplicate entries or errors on entry forms.

running order, with the first available alternate entry replacing the first vacancy

in the class entered.

Per Chapter 1, Section 13 of the Herding Regulations, “In tests and for move-ups

from a test class to a trial class, alternate entries shall be given priority over dogs

that are eligible to be moved-up. Within the trial classes, requests to move-up shall

be given priority over alternate entries.

Alternates will be permitted to run if there is an absentee in an earlier class

(provided the alternate’s class has not begun) which was not filled on the same

course, same type of livestock and under the same Judge, or if a dog has been

marked absent with the Event Secretary prior to the beginning of the alternate’s

class.”

Entry fees will be refunded for alternates whose dogs do not run.

Bitches in season will be placed at the end of the running order in test classes

and run in catalog order in trial classes. Please notify Trial Secretary if your bitch

MOST VERSATILE COLLIE IN THE 2019 NATIONAL SPECIALTY SHOW

To be eligible for this award a Collie must participate in at least three of the four AKC events offered by the CCA (Breed, Obedience/Rally, Agility or Herding). Sign up for the award at any performance event. You must sign up for the award to be eligible, and signup sheets must be turned in to Jim Smotrel by the end of the agility trial. The detailed rules for determining the winner from the Collies that qualify for the award are given below. Note that weighting fac-tors are used in each of the performance events to recognize the in-creased difficulty of the higher level classes. In the Non-Best of Vari-ety classes, points are awarded based on the number of dogs defeat-ed in the class. All scores will be recorded from the posted Judge's sheets. Jim Smotrel will maintain the official scores at this show. The award presentations will be announced on Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the main conformation ring (Time TBA). MOST VERSATILE COLLIE PRIZES Most Versatile Collie in Show: CCA 15” Silver Plated Loving Cup and Large Rosette. Handcrafted Metal Art of 2019 Show Logo in Small Wood Frame Most Versatile Collie Qualifiers: Qualifying Rosette and Handcrafted Metal Art Barn Star RULES FOR THE MOST VERSATILE COLLIE AWARD To be eligible for this award, your Collie needs a qualifying score in at least three of the four AKC events at the National Specialty. A Collie that receives MVC points in Breed is considered to have re-ceived a qualifying score in that event. Only one score will be count-ed for each event. The Collie obtaining the highest point total will win the award. The following scoring system will apply: Breed: All Collies that are a conformation champion or have at least 5

championship points will receive a minimum of 40 MVC points for entering and showing in a conformation class at the CCA Na-tional.

Collies with less than 5 Championship points will not automati-cally receive any MVC points for showing in a conformation class. Points will only be awarded for placing in a class and de-feating competition.

Since this is an individual award, Brace Class performance do not count. No points will be awarded to Collies entering a con-formation class and not showing (i.e. marked absent).

THE LOIS RUSSELL PERPETUAL REMEMBRANCE

The Collie Club of Connecticut and the Hartford-Springfield Collie Club

offer The Lois Russell Perpetual Remembrance to honor a gracious lady in

the sport of herding with our beloved breed, the Collie. Lois Russell was

instrumental in her efforts resulting in AKC and CCA adopting herding

as an event to restore our breed’s working heritage. Also, the Collie Club

of Connecticut and the Hartford-Springfield Collie Club wish to pay

tribute to Lois’ ten years of service as Connecticut’s District Director.

The annual winner will receive a copy of the bronze composite relief

casting of the herding scene mounted on the side of The Lois Russell

Perpetual Remembrance to be provided by the Collie Club of Connecticut

and the Hartford-Springfield Collie Club.

The winner must be a CCA member owning the Highest Scoring Collie

with a qualifying score on sheep from any Course A class at the national

herding trial. In years with multiple trials there will be only one

composite relief casting awarded. In the event of a multiple-trial event

creating a tie or a one-day event with tie score classes, the winner is to be

determined by AKC Herding Regulations, Chapter 4, Section 9, “Ties”.
