COLLEGE UNION REPORT 2016-17

The college union committee is entrusted to conduct various activities in the college. College union

helpful to the students to conduct the various activities in the colleges effectively.

The college union election is conducted according to the Election Rules of University. The union

members are elected on the mode of parliamentary election. The union consist of Chairman, Vice

chairman, General secretary, Union councilors, Arts Club Secretary, Student Editor, and General

Captain etc. The union is conducted all the activities of the college under the guidance of staff advisors.

OATH TAKING

After the declaration of election the union members decided to took their responsibility in the

swearing ceremony. Our respected college principal Byju K dictated Oath to the union

members. All teachers, nonteaching staff and students were participated the program.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

The union celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2016.. Our principal Byju K hosted the

Indian flag. The proud moment was followed by the national anthem and the college prayer.

Independence Day rally was held by the students. The day concluded with a heartfelt thanks by

the staff to those who came to celebrate the day.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION

The union celebrated the teacher’s day program wonderfully. The students had actively participated in

the celebration. The students has organized several variety programs on that day. The event was

started by welcoming the staff members of the institute by presenting them a bouquet by the students.

ONAM CELEBRATION

We have conducted onam celebrations on 22nd and 23rd Se[ptember2016 . Our union members

co ordinated well. We conducted pookalamalsaram, vadamvali, onamsadhya and other various

programs inside the campus. The children enjoyed the program very well, it was a memorable

event for both the students and teachers.

ASSOCIATION DAYS

ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION DAY

Department of Economics organized their association day on 30th November 2016 inaugrated by

Mrs.Amrithavalli Retired Professor of NSS college Ottapalam .On the same day a class on Recent

Development in India and a Poster exhibition was conducted and followed by cultural programs.

MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION DAY

Department of management organized their association day Line of Sight 2K17 on 9th January 2017.

The program was inaugurated by Mr. Sanu, Motivation Trainer and Teacher.

COMMERCE ASSOCIATION DAY

Department of commerce organized their association day 24th NOVEMBER 2016 with students. It was

such a wonderful class the students enjoyed it and they interacted very well.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

The college union had celebrated Christmas on 24th December 2016 with great fun . Union had

conducted variety of programs. One student dresses as Santa Clause and filled the entire crowd with joy

and distributed toffees. The celebration combined with the several cultural programs like dance, song

and so on. All the students , teachers and non teaching staff participated well and it was

memorableday.

SPORTS DAY

Union had conducted sports day on 22nd February 2017. General captain initiated the program by

lightning the lamp. Our principal Byju K inaugurated the function. We conducted the sports by dividing

students into four houses. It was an energetic and enthusiastic perform by our students and finally Team

house won the overall championship.

MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION

Department of management organized their association day SHRISHTI 2K17 ON 24

thNovember 2017. The program was inaugurated by Sunny George Human Excellence Cum

Linguistic Trainer .College Chairman Shamil Muhammed delivered welcome speech and

association secretary Jijin Nandanan delivered vote of thanks.

COMMERCE ASSOCIATION

Department of commerce organized their c association day ELEGANZA 2K17 on 24th

NOVEMBER 2017. The program was inaugurated by Dr.Vijayakumar, Retired Principal NSS

College Ottapalam and the topic was Value Based Education discussed with students.

ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION

Department of Economics organized their association day ADVIKA 2K17 on 18th December

2017inaugrated by Prof.Rajasekharan Nair Retired from VTB college Sreekrishnapuram. A

class on Gods Own Country was taken by him and followed by cultural programs.


The college union had celebrated Christmas on 22nd December 2017. Union had conducted

Our college election had made according to the university norms and we formed a strong union.

The elected members took oath taking next day of election and took their responsibilities in the

swearing ceremony conducted.

UNIVERSITY UNION KALAJADHA

Calicut University Union had conducted a drama based on social issues named ‘UYIRP’. It was

staged on our college auditorium at 11 am on 28th September 2018. Our union gave full support

and coordinated the programme. We gave our compliments to them by providing educational kits

to the participants. We also congratulate our six students who were part of it.

A.P.J. ABDUL KALAM DAY

Our college union had conducted a special programme to give tribute to A.P.J. Abdul

Kalam on his birthday 19th October, by lighting candles. Every students and teachers took part in

it.

BBA ASSOCIATION

Our union members gave all the support to conduct the program on 23rd October 2018. Our

chairman facilitated the function.The chief guest was Dr.Abilash Chembath (Psycologist). Topic

was ‘Importance of mental health and motivation’.After the official session students conducted

cultural programmes.

B.A ASSOCIATION

Our union members co-ordinated to conduct BA Association on 25th October 2018.Our

chairman facilitated the function.Prof.Venugopal inaugurated the function and gave a speech on

‘Nationalisation of commercial banks’.After the official session students presented cultural

programmes.

B.COM ASSOCIATION

Our union members co-ordinated to conduct B.com Association. Our chairman facilitated the

function. Mr. Shaheem K.M(National trainer JCI university USA) inaugurated the function and

gave a speech on ‘ Importance of commucication skill and motivation”. After the official session

students presented cultural programmes. We also conducted programmes like Corporate Show,

Best Commentator and an exhibition ‘COCAFI EXPO’.

KERALAPIRAVI

On the occasion of Nov1,Keralapiravi we had conducted one-day program for students.

During official program, we followed the pledge that university had sent.Then we conducted

competitions like elocution, poem recitation and tongue twister before lunch. We also conducted

off-stage programs like versification, essay writing on Malayalam and painting competition.

CHARITY PROGRAM

We had collected the sum of for the treatment of 2nd year finance. We gave the amount

to his family with the presence of our UUC and other union members. We had also took

initiative to promote charity works in our college.

CHILDREN’S DAY

We had conducted an external program as Children’s Day celebrations. We

had visited Modern LP school,Manissery and presented cultural programs like Nadanpaatu and

Patriotic Song by Music Band team and a Drama by Arts Club.

UNION INAUGURATION

On 22nd November 2018,we conducted our Union Inauguration very successfully.Our

guest was Cine Artist ‘Sri. JayarajWarrier’.‘ALLIEDIANZ’ was selected as the name of the

Union and logo was published.Our first official union programme was successful.We

coordinated the function well.After the official programme we presented many quality cultural

programmes for students.

ARTS DAY

We had conducted Arts day on 17th December to 19th December. We had conducted off

stage on 17th and 18th December and on stage on 19thDecember 2018. Our honourable principal

Byju sir inaugurated the function and we conducted the programme to enhance the competitive

and creative mind of students. We selected Anoop (1st cooperation) as individual champion with

15 points.

MANAGEMENT FESTS

Our college union gave immense support to our students by providing them the

opportunities to compete with other colleges. Our students Arya and Faisal C.U participated in a

management fest conducted in Pattambi SNGS college and won first debate on 7th November.

They also participated in a debate competition and won 2nd in chathamkulam college, Palakkad

on 7th December. Our team of Arya and Faisal also participated in a management fest on 12th

February in vadakanchery college.


We had conducted Christmas celebration on 21st December 2018. Our union members

coordinated well. We conducted Crib competition and first BBA was the winners.

FILM FEST

Our college union in association with nature club had conducted a film festival on 15th

January 2019. It was based on the theme humanity and nature. The film festival was presented by

a cultural organisation ‘Dialogue Film Society’. Our honourable principal inaugurated the

function and Dinesh Babu from Dialogy Films Society gave an introduction to the film festival.

SPORTS DAY

Union had conducted sports day on 17th January 2019. Our general captian initiated the

program by lighting the lamb. Our honourable principal Byju sir inaugurated the function.

We had conducted a march past. After that we started athletics. We conducted the sports by

dividing students into 4 houses. The houses are Red, Green, Blue and Black. Black house had

won overall.Sanjay of second year cooperation selected as individual champion.

A-ZONE

Our college union had coordinated A-zone fest by participation 57 students in azone fest

under Calicut university. Our students participated in 37 items and we won one first and one

third. Our Rakhil of first year CA won first in ottamthullal and Ansar of second year finance

won third in mappilapattu.

GANDHI JAYANTHI

On 2nd October 2019, as a part of the 150th birth day celebration of Mahatma Gandhi, College

and union members jointly conducted social service to the patients of Government Hospital,

Ottapalam. Teachers, Non-teaching staff and students are also participated this function. In

connection with Gandhi Jayanthi union also conducted quiz programmes debate competition etc.

SARGAM 2K19 – KERALA PIRAVI

The College union and literary club decided to celebrate November-1 (Keralapiravi) for one

week activities. For this we conducted OttamThulal, folk songs, Kaviarang, Mr.Malayalee and

Mis.malayalee competition and Tholpavakooth. Ottamthulal was presented by our college last

year interzone winner Rakhil. All the students, teachers and Non-teaching staff supported the

programmes well.

AALIA 2K19- UNION INAUGURATION

The college Union decided to inaugurate union on 6th November 2019 named ‘AALIA’. The

function was inaugurated by famous film star Tito Wilson. The function was presided by the

college chairman Mr.Ashif and felicitated by college director Swami Sir, college Principal

Dr.Byju.K, Vice Principal Mis.NishaSasikumar, College coordinator Mis.Sarala KT, Union

advisor Mr.Rajeesh Kumar, Vice chairperson Mis.RisniyaThazni and Vote of thanks by Joint

Secretary MisAnjana. In connection with this programme union was conducted various

programmes by students

ARANG 2K19- ARTS FEST

The college union 2019-20 was organised Arts fest on 16th December 2019 named ‘ARANG’.

The program was inaugurated by our respected college principal Dr.Byju.K. Students were

participated the off stage and on stage items. The union selected the winners for zone festival.

2K20’on 21st January 2020. Dr.Pradeep.P from Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur was

inaugurated the programme. The topic discussed about ‘Deepening India’s Economic

Slowdown’.

Department of Management was organised their Management Association Day 2K20 ‘AEGIS

2K20’ on 22nd January. The program was inaugurated by Dr.Sarin.P (former IAAS) and the topic

‘Refine your Target” was discussed

Department of Commerce was organised their Commerce Association Day 2K20 ‘ASTHRA

2K20’on 20th February 2020. The program was inaugurated by CMA Anoop.N and the topic was

‘Self-motivation and Career development’ discussed with students.

ALFA 2K20 – SPORTS DAY

Union had conducted sports day ‘ALFA 2K20’ on 23rd January 2020. Our general captain

Mr.Prasanth initiated the program by lighting the lamb. Our honourable principal Dr.Byju.k was

inaugurated the function. We conducted the sports by dividing students in to 4 houses. Team

Blue house won the overall championship of the entire sports.

2020-21 REPORT

Due to Covid pandemic, no university election was conducted in the academic year 2020-21.

Representative were selected from each class to form a college committee. This committee were

in the front to take decisions on each and every aspect related to college and students. The

committee along with teachers and management tried to overcome the ill effects of pandemic and

create a optimism in the minds of students. All programs were conducted by the college with the

support of the committee members.
