DOGSBARKING At the recent AGM, a number of residents reported a serious issue regarding dogs barking during the day in the estate. This is generally intrusive on people, but particularly for retired residents, night workers, or young babies it can be a very serious disturbance.

If you have a dog and are not at home during the day, you might just check with a neighbor whether your dog is causing a disturbance.

For residents who have a serious concern, please contact the dog warden directly in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council at (01) 2054771.

BENCH/TREES Residents in Delbrook enjoyed the use of their new bench over the summer. Given its success, there is now a proposal to install (in cooperation with the county council) a similar bench at College Park Way.

College Park and Delbrook Manor Residents Association Spring 2019 UPDATES

SPEEDING: An increasing issue of concern raised at the AGM is speeding in the estate. Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council have put up “Caution Children” signs on the way into the estate. Following representation by some residents, the committee will be asking the county council to put signs up within the estate particularly to remind drivers on College Park Avenue that they must drive slowly approaching the traffic lights. There are a number of young children, vulnerable adults and pets along this road that are at increasing risk. Also please be neighbourly and give residents living near the entrance space to enter and exit their driveways. If drivers slow down entering and leaving the estate and do not ‘tailgate’ other cars on the way into the estate, it would be much appreciated. MAINTAINING ACCESS AND MOBILITY: There are now lots of young families living within the estate and it is great to see families out with their prams and buggies. We would ask everyone to please be considerate in parking your car and do not block the public footpath or impede it by parking your car halfway into the driveway / half on the footpath. There are wheelchair users and others with restricted mobility within the estate who need to have easy access. Please again just consider your neighbours. LANDSCAPING IDEAS: If you have any landscaping ideas, let us know. The estate is looking great but we are always looking for ways to improve it!

GOTANIDEATOSHARE?We would welcome contributions for the next newsletter from any resident. The Committee are also actively looking for ideas to improve our estate. Just email or speak to any of us and don’t forget to check the website or Facebook page for updates. If you would be interested in any community events e.g. golf outing, walking group or other activities, feel free to share ideas and, even better, if you would like to organise something then please let us know!
