Renewing for H.E. Professor Badran Al-Omar's appointment as the Rector of King Saud University

The College of Engineering conveys its highest congratulations to His Excellency the Rector

Professor Badran bin Abdul Rahman Al-Omar on the precious royal trust to renew his

appointment as the Rector of King Saud University. We wish His Excellency success and assistance

from Allah.

Nominations for the position of the dean of the College of Engineering

The Advisory Committee for the selection of Deans of Colleges and Institutes and upon the direction of His Excellency the University rector announced that it has opened the door for the nomination of the Dean of the college of engineering, and that is through the renewal of the current dean or the appointment of a new dean, as well as the evaluation of the current dean, whose term will end. On this occasion, the committee is pleased to invite the College vice deans, heads of departments and all faculty members to participate in this process noting that the evaluation is opened until Saturday 9/9/1441 AH.

Three research proposals from the College have been accepted in the King Saud University Coronavirus research initiative

The College of engineering congratulates the following faculty members for having their research proposals accepted in the King Saud University Initiative for Coronavirus research: Professor Abdulmohsen bin Ahmed Albadah, Dr. Abdul-Rahman bin Abdulaziz Alrabiah, and Dr. Hamad bin Fahd Alharbi. The College wished them success in achieving the goals of their research for the benefit and advancement of our dear country.

Visit of the Dean of the College of Engineering at King Faisal University to the College

The College dean, Prof. Dr. Walid Zahid, received on Thursday 5TH of Jumada II, 1441 AH, Dr. Abdullah Al-Jaafari, dean of the college of engineering at King Faisal University, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Arfajt the head of the electrical engineering department. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdul-Mohsen Al-Badah, the College vice dean for postgraduate studies and scientific research, Dr. Majid Al-Otaibi, the College vice-dean for educational and academic affairs, and heads of departments. During the meeting, common issues were discussed as well as ways to strengthen joint cooperation in research fields. The delegation also visited the Student Innovation and Creativity Center, the Center of Excellence for Concrete Research and Testing, the SABIC Polymers Center, the Center for Sustainable Energy Technologies, and the Prince Sultan Institute for Advanced Technology Research.

A delegation from French universities visited the College

The college received on Tuesday 1 Rajab 1441 H a delegation from French universities, and was received by the College Vice Dean for Development and Quality Prof. Dr. Musaed bin Nasser AlAwad and a number of department heads. The meeting discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in research and training fields, and exchange visits for faculty and students. The French delegation also visited construction engineering labs in the civil engineering department as well as the high voltage lab in the electrical engineering department.

Engineer Attia Alzahrani promoted to the twelfth rank

A university’s decision was issued for the exceptional promotion of Engineer Atia bin Awad Alzahrani, from the Chemical engineering department, to the position of "Chief Engineer" at the twelfth rank. On this occasion, the College congratulates Eng. Attia for this deserved distinction, and asks the Almighty God to help him make more progress and success.

The Dean's Award for the Ideal Employee for the Month (Jumada II), awarded to: Mr. Bakhit bin Ibrahim Al-Dossary

In continuation to motivate the College employees to improve performance and speed of achievement, to enhance self-confidence and the value of work, to encourage positive competition between employees, and encourage creative work methods that facilitate and increase the efficiency of work procedures, the Dean's Prize for the ideal employee of the second month of second semester (Jumada Al-Thani) was awarded to Mr. Bakhit bin Ibrahim Al-Dossary from the department of chemical engineering. The employee was honored by His Excellency the Dean of the college in the presence of the members of the College council at the beginning of the fifteenth session of the Council held on 07/14/1441 AH.

The College participated in the ninth forum for specializations held in the exemplary National education schools in Riyadh

The College participated under the supervision of Dr. Aref Abdal, the head of the community relations unit at the College Vice Deanship for Development and Quality, at the ninth forum for specializations held in the Exemplary National Schools of Education on 16/17/6/1441 H. The forum aims at introducing general education students to the university’s systems and the various specializations. A number of students from the College were nominated to participate. The College participation in the forum can be summarized as follows:

• Introducing the forum visitors to the College, its departments, and its research and technical capabilities.

• Presentation of College admission requirements. • Presentation of the academic programs. • Presentation of the fields of employment for College graduates.
