DESCRIPTION

This is a great opportunity to learn more about college preparation and college education. Sacramento State's 18th annual "College: Making it Happen" college information day is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, 2012, 8:30am - 12:00pm. This is a FREE program open to the public geared towards 6th through 10th grade students and their parents. This is a popular event, so pre-registration is required.

    We would like to invite you and your students to Sacramento State for our 18th annual"College: Making It Happen!" college information day scheduled for Saturday, March 17,2012.This program, intended primarily for 6ft through 106 grade students and their iarents, is designedto convey the importance of early academic preparation and to inform families that a collegeeducation is still both affordable and attainable. The program is fres and apqn to thepqblie.We have enclosed some flyers for the program. Please post and distribute to all interested parties.

    The program includes motivational sessions, practical hands-on workshops, career exploration,campus tours, and information sessions on preparing academically and financially for college.Representatives and counselors from local colleges and universities, tutoring programs,community agencies and other student support services will be available to answer questions andprovide information about their services.

    "College: Making It Happen!" is sponsored by Sacramento State, UC Davis Early Academicoutreach Program, Los Rios community college District, ScholarShare, cAL-soApConsortium, MESA, Breakthrough Sacramento, and other educational and community basedorganizations.
