COLLEGE DAY CELEBRATIONS

ACTIVITIES OF THE COMMERCE ASSOCIATION

PROGRAMME ON UNION BUDGET

A Special lecture was organized jointly by the Commerce Association and

IQAC on “Union Budget” on 2-3-2017 The main highlights of the Union Budget

were explained to the students of M. Com and M.A(Economics) by Narasimha

Nayaka. Chartered Accountant, Udupi. Principal Prof.Balakrishna Hegde, Dr.

Gopalkrishna Gaonker, Umesh Pai, T G Bhat, Mahesh Rao and Smt. Mavy

Miranda were present on the occasion.

A Special lecture Programme Insight on GST

A special lecture was organized on “GST” jointly by the Commerce Association and

IQAC on 23-03-2017. Prof.Nagaraja U. Assistant Professor of Commerce Laxmi

Bangera G.F.G College, Kota Padukere spoke about the taxation system currently

followed in India and the benefits of GST. The occasion was witnessed by our

Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Mahesh Rao, Dr, Gopalkrishna Gaonker, T G

Bhat, Umesh Pai and Mavy Miranda and others.

A special Programme on Building up leadership

A special lecture was organized jointly by the Commerce Association and IQAC

on “Leadership Development “on 28-03-2017. Dr. Sureshramana Maiya

conducted activities and highlighted the importance of leadership quality

among students. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Mahesh Rao, Dr.

Gopalkrishna Gaonker, Umesh Pai and Mavy Miranda were present on the

occasion.

A Special lecture Programme on Communication Skills

A special lecture was organized jointly by the Commerce Association and IQAC on

“Nonverbal communication” on 30-03-2017. Mrs. Geetha, Associate Professor

Bhandarkar’s College Kundapur highlighted the importance of nonverbal

communication in the corporate world. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Dr.

Gopalkrishna Gaonker, T G Bhat, Umesh Pai, Mahesh Rao and Mavy Miranda were

present in the Programme.

A Special Programme on Devraj Arasu

Devraj Arasu birth centenary celebration Programme was held on 06-08-2016 in

association with IQAC and Student Welfare Council. Dr. Dinesh Hegde Associate

Professor of Political Science was the guest speaker. Principal Prof. Balakrishna

Hegde, Prof. Prasad Rao and Dr. Jayaprakash Shetty were present on the occasion.

Mangalore University Inter-collegiate Hand-Ball tournament

Mangalore University Inter-collegiate Hand-Ball tournament was

conducted on 10/03/2017. The Tournament was inaugurated Sri Pramod

Madhwaraj District In charge Minister Udupi. On this occasion Principal

Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Mairmadi Sudhakar Shetty, Prakhyat Shetty and

Ramachandra Patker were present. Alva’s college, Moodbidri won the

championship.

The M.S.W students won award for making a short film in mobile phone

Congratulations students. Dr. Duggappa Kajekar, Ganesh Prasad were present with

award winners.

N S S DAY CELEBRATION

On 24/09/2016 NSS Day was celebrated association with IQAC. On this occasion Dr.

Jayaram Shettigar Associate Professor of History Milagres College, Kallianpur was

the resource person, who spoke about the benefits of NSS to the students. Principal

Prof. Balakrishna Hegde was presided over the function. NSS officers Prof. Raviraj

and Dr. Mahesh Kumar were present on the occasion.

NSS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

NSS Orientation Programme was organized in association with IQAC on

05-07-2016. Dr. Nikethana Associate Professor of Kannada was the

resource person. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Prof. Raviraj and Dr.

Mahesh Kumar were present on the occasion.

AWARENESS ABOUT BLOOD DONATION PROGRAMME

National Service Scheme and Youth Red Cross Wing of our college organized

AWARENESS ABOUT BLOOD DONATION PROGRAMME. Prof. Balakrishna Hegde,

Principal, NSS officers Prof. Raviraj, Dr. Mahesh Kumar and Basavaraj were present

on the occasion.

Vanamahotsava Programme

The NSS Unit of our college organized Vanamahotsava Programme 09-

07-2016 in association with Junior Chamber Kallianpur and IQAC. Prof.

Balakrishna Hegde, Prof. Raviraj, Dr. Mahesh Kumar and Basavaraj and

others were present on the occasion.

Special lecture on Communal Harmony

A special lecture on COMMUNAL HARMONY was organized jointly by

IQAC, NSS, Rovers & Rangers & Red Cross wing of our college on 10-09-

2017. Prof.Surendranath Shetty of Political Science Department of

M.G.M College, Udupi spoke on communal harmony. Principal Prof.

Balakrishna Hegde, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Suresh Rai, Basavaraj, Raviraj

and Prof. Manjunath were present on the occasion.

Blood donation camp

NSS, YOUTH RED CROSS UNIT and IQAC of our college jointly organized Blood

donation camp on 11/2/2016. Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Mahesh Rao, Raviraj, Dr.

Mahesh Kumar, Basavaraj were present on the occasion.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME TO P.G STUDENTS

On 17th, August 2016 an Orientation Programme for first year P.G.

Students was organized on 17-08-2017. Prof. Sripathi Kalluraya, Finance

officer, Mangalore University addressed the students. Principal Prof.

Balakrishna Hegde, Dr. Duggappa Kajekar, Prasad Rao, Dr. Gopalkrishna

Gaonker, Raghava Naik, Dr. Jayaprakash Shetty, Smt. Mavy Miranda

were present on the occasion.

RASHTRIYA AIKYATHA SAPTHAHA

Rashtriya Aikyatha Sapthaha was celebrated on 25-11-2016 in

association with IQAC. Smt. Mumtaz Assistant Public Prosecutor of

Udupi First Additional Court spoke on women empowerment as a part

of Rashtriya Iqyatha Sapthaha celebration. Principal Prof. Balakrishna

Hegde, T G Bhat and Mavy Miranda were present on the occasion.

Dr.Suresh Rai spoke on National Integration as a part of Rashtriya Iqyatha

Sapthaha celebrations.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

On Feb 8th,2017 Annual sports day was conducted. Malpe Police

Inspector was inaugurated the Event . Prof Balakrishna Hegde, Mahesh

Rao, Ramachandra Patker were present on the occasion.

INAUGURATION OF STUDENT WELFARE COUNCIL AND TALENTS DAY

Students Union and Talents day inauguration was held on September

16th,2016. The Programme was inaugurated by Sri. Pramod Madhwaraj,

District in charge Minister of Udupi. Dr. Jagadish Shetty, Principal PPC

Udupi was the key speaker on the occasion. In this occasion College

magazine SUDARSHANA was released and sports champions were

honored.

RASHTRIYA YUVA SAPTHAHA

A special lecture was organized in memory of Swami Vivekananda’s

154th birthday in association with IQAC. Mahesh Rao, Dr. Suresh Rai and

Umesh Pai were present on the occasion.

TIRANGA MARCH

“Tiranga March” a special program was organized in honour of our

National Flag was on 22/08/2016. The NSS Students, Youth Red Cross

Volunteers and other students were actively participated in the

Programme. Principal Prof. Balakrishna Hegde, Mahesh Rao, Basavaraj

and others were present on the occasion.
