With cutting-edge solutions, Mobilaris Mining & Civil
Engineering takes digitalization of underground mining
operations to the next level.
For years, our solutions have been used to digitalize
underground mines all around the world. So far, the
result has been double digit productivity increases,
improved efficiency and increased safety.
• Founded in 1999 initially focusing on telecom business
• Headquarters in Luleå, Sweden.
• Local offices in Australia, Canada and US.
• Footprint on all continents and ambitious global growth goals.
• A wide range of well proven technology-agnostic products that
fit into whatever infrastructure or systems already in place.
• Mobilaris MCE is fully owned by Epiroc
Dangerous areas, narrow roads
and winding curves are all daily
obstacles that threaten workforce
safety. Every unforeseen event,
such as a fire or traffic collisions,
puts lives in danger and weakens
production.
Safety Challenges - What has happened and where?
- Where are people?
- Who is safe and who is not?
- Who has received the emergency message?
- Do I need to organize search and rescue?
- How do I evacuate the mine safely?
- Meeting traffic ahead?
▪ Network and Access Points integrated into Mobilaris Mining Intelligence
(MMI) can ‘hear’ a tag and receive information like MAC address,
timestamp, etc.
▪ Mobilaris positioning engine receives a package from the access point
containing RSSI value of the tag blink (return signal strength indicator),
timestamp, Access Point MAC address, tag mac address and positions
the tag on the 3D map
• A tag (Mobilaris Virtual Tag, Mobilaris Companion tag or Roobuck cap lamp) register on an access point and get an IP address
• Over a standardized protocol the tag reports relevant information like timestamp, RSSI value, MAC address over Wi-Fi and LTE.
Benefits
• No need to directly integrate with the network vendor as Cisco, NLT, or ABB
• New standard for positioning and emergency for all tag and network vendors
• Can be easily reused by other vendors and makes the solution vendor agnostic, very suitable for mixed networks and mixed tags
The traditional vs. new way
of positioning
Emergency support
• Integrated with messaging/mine phone
system or smart cap lamps, the Mobilaris
Emergency Support™ application can
submit evacuation messages and keep
track over those who know about the
evacuation and those who don’t.
• The emergency application can display
the real-time status of refuge chambers,
showing who is in a safe zone and who is
not.
• The emergency application can guide
rescue personnel to the people still in
danger.
Mobilaris Mining Intelligence™
Safer Mining Operations
Efficient evcuations
Reduce the evacuation time by 25-50% with real-time information
showing who is safe and who is not.
Safe underground traffic
Be warned of potential traffic collisions well in advance to avoid
accidents.
Smart alerts
Alert affected personnel based on their location, directly via their cap
lamp or smartphone.
Live maps and locations
Get an overview of vehicle movement, workforce safety and progression,
and update your colleagues about area restrictions.
Smart analytics
Analyze network status, recent incidents, and the current status of
refuge chambers.
Automated events
Set up automatic alerts, e.g. when entering an area with remotely
operated loaders or when maximum amount of people is reached.
