VSA

VSA, the international organization on arts and disability, was founded in 1974 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith to provide arts and education opportunities for people with disabilities and to increase access to the arts for all.

2011, VSA merged with the Kennedy Center's Office on Accessibility to become the Department of VSA and Accessibility at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Workforce Recruitment Program

(WRP)

• Co-sponsored by the US Dept. of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy and the US Dept. of Defense

• Coordinated on campus by Career Services and DSS

• Recruiters for Federal and private agencies come to campus to interview students with disabilities for summer and permanent positions

• Participating campuses must guarantee a minimum of 8 students

• Students upload resumé and application packet prior to interview

• Placement may be anywhere in the US
