Objectives
1. To contribute positively in the development of energy-related research and innovation activities at
the national level
2. To leverage the available financial resources in supporting energy research and innovation activities
3. To promote the culture of sharing practices & experiences thru participation in organizing and actively
engaging in seminars, conferences, workshops, and training to build energy research and innovation
capacity
4. To participate in a membership-based virtual collaborative platform (hereinafter referred to as
“Platform”) where industry, academia and government can interact and engage in research and

What has worked well
• High uptake on R&D Protocol
• Dedicated Ejaad Team is in place
• Ejaad Platform Launched (10th Dec 2017)
• Ejaad live since 1st January 2018.
• Major Players are joining the platform
• 14 Industrial challenges posted (@ 10th July 2018)
• 15 EOIs/Proposals received, with 4 Projects signed
• Visible top Leadership Support
• Dialogues have started - (b/w A&I and A&A)
• Start receiving and building research equipment and facilities data base.
• Interest from outside Energy industries (Logistics, ICT, Banking etc.)
• Overseas Interests
What needs improving
• Value preposition is not fully appreciated [Both Industry and Academia are yet to see results – early steps in the journey]
• Apparent nervous: trust is yet to mould b/w Academia and Industry.
• Isolated System’s software hitches
• Weak culture of collaboration- all parties
• Clarity needed on staff mobility, including short and long term internship.
• Perception in possible mismatch b/w tech. challenges and available academic capability.
• Need more dialogues to support fast turn aroundo Solution to Ind. Challenges
o Academic proposals.
