The Colgate® Optic White® Professional system is intended for in-o�ce teeth whitening. Both the upper and lower teeth arches are treated simultaneously. The procedure includes protecting thegingiva, and then three 10-minute in-o�ce applications.

HOW IT WORKS INDICATIONS FOR USEColgate® Optic White® Professional is indicated for vital tooth whitening. It is recommended for natural permanent teeth with healthy gingiva. This whitening device will only whiten natural teeth. It will not whiten dental work such as caps,crowns, veneers, �llings or dentures.

WARNINGS• Use ONLY the provided Colgate® Optic White® Professional complete set• The Colgate® Optic White® Professional kit contains NO SERVICEABLE parts. Do not attempt to open any of the components• Do not use if the package is damaged• Keep out of the reach of children. Products containing peroxides are not recommended for use by children under 12 years of age• Avoid using this product on patients known to have a contact allergy to nickel• No modi�cation of this equipment is allowed

CAUTION• Some people may experience tooth sensitivity or gum discomfort when using whitening products. This discomfort is temporary and not harmful. If signi�cant tooth sensitivity or gum discomfort develops and persists after use, patient should consult dentist or physician before continuing use• Prolonged gel contact with gum or soft tissue may cause gum irritation to patients. Potential irritation can be minimized by not allowing gel to stay on gums/lips

• Patients should avoid swallowing the whitening gel• Avoid contact of the whitening gel with the eyes. Rinse eyes thoroughly with water if whitening gel comes in contact with them• Whitening gel that comes into contact with the skin may cause temporary skin irritation and/or whitening. To prevent this, wash your hands with soap and water after use• Avoid gel from getting on your clothes, other fabric materials or hard surfaces as discoloration may occur• Do not use on loose teeth, restorations, or braces• Do not use on patients who are pregnant or nursing• Battery contains non-hazardous waste; please recycle or dispose of properly in accordance with local regulations. Suction is optional

STEP 1 : PREPARE YOUR PATIENT• Take High-Peroxide Whitening and Activator Gel Syringes out of the refrigerator 20 minutes prior to the patient’s appointment, for each of the gels to reach room temperature• Complete intraoral exam

• Determine and record patient’s “before” shade. Take photo, if desired

• Apply light cured gingival barrier along dry gingiva. Place the gingival barrier back to at least the �rst molars or where the smile line is visible. Ensure all gingiva is covered, placing barrier along 3-4 teeth at a time. Overlap on tooth surface slightly

• Insert retractor and cotton rolls. Put protective eyewear on patient and self

• Cure barrier with curing light• Once barrier is cured, remove retractor and cotton rolls •

The patient will receive three 10-minute treatments. For each treatment, follow instructions below. For each application, you will use• 1/6 of the mixed High-Peroxide Whitening Gel per arch • 2 Conducting Gel syringes

• Turn whitening device over and repeat on the lingual wall of the opposing arch

Follow from one pin hole to the other

Follow from one pin hole to the other Ensure that the gel is in contact with both inner walls of the whitening device

HIGH-PEROXIDE WHITENING GEL

STEP 3 : PREPARE THE WHITENING DE VICE

• Apply 1/6th (to the marker) of the mixed High-Peroxide Whitening Gel along the facial wall in a continuous line •

CONDUCTING GEL• Apply 1 syringe of Conducting Gel to the lingual wall in a continuous line up to the top of the silver strip and then fill the floor of the tray with the remaining gel left in the syringe • •

Lingual Wall

• Turn whitening device over and repeat on the facial wall of the opposing arch

Facial Wall

• Remove caps from High-Peroxide Whitening Gel and Activator Gel Syringes. Connect syringes

• Mix components a minimum of 25 times to activate formula (formula turns white when mixed)

• Press the entire mixed solution into activator end of the syringe and apply tip

• Suction excess saliva from patient’s mouth and remaining material from the whitening device

6: Repeat steps 3-5 two more times, for a total of 3 applications. Ensure gingival barrier is in place for entire application

STEP 5 : CLEAN UP AND REPEAT

7: When all 3 applications are complete, remove the gingival barrier

8: Have the patient rinse with water after the 3rd and �nal application

9: Determine patient’s shade after treatment, and compare with pre-treatment shade. Share success with patient

10: Send the whitening device and case home with patient

11: Patient should avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes

• Press button, and wait for the indicator light to turn green

• Leave in for 10 minutes• Remove when indicator light goes o�. Use a high-speed suction to suction around the tray before taking it out of the patient's mouth. Doing so will help prevent saliva and

whitening gel from dripping on the lip or soft tissue. Carefully wrap a 2x2 gauze around lower lip before removing the tray from the mouth to protect from bleach drip.

STEP 4 : ADMINISTER APPLICATION• Insert whitening device into the patient’s mouth, light-side up, ensuring teeth are completely covered • Suction optional
