Table of Contents IntroductionThe partnership between Northwest Local School District and Butler Technology and Career Development Schools allows students of both Colerain and Northwest High Schools exposure to a wide array of career technical education programs. Colerain and Northwest High School students have the ability to participate in programming at the following locations:

Colerain Career CenterNorthwest Career CenterBioscience CenterD. Russel Lee Career Technology CenterNatural Science Center School of the Arts

By attending career technical programming at any of these campuses students will be prepared for direct career entry AND college. The goal of these programs is to connect students with real world experiences, mentorship connections, clinical exposure and internship opportunities. All programs offered by Butler Tech allow students to grow their 21st Century skills through experiential learning in settings that mimic the environment of the industry students are training for. Most students find success in career tech programs because the hands-on relevant activity in the labs keeps them engaged and excited about learning. Students also enjoy spending a portion of their day doing activities they love.

This guide will highlight the programs offered at both Colerain Career Center and Northwest Career Center. Students that have additional questions about these programs can contact the teachers directly or speak to their guidance counselor.

This guide will highlight the programs offered at both Colerain Career Center and Northwest Career Center. All programs are open to Colerain and Northwest High School students.

All programs featured are Tech Prep programs which prepare students for the technical occupations of the future. Tech Prep is an option which combines secondary education and higher education leading to an associate degree or beyond.

Tech Prep curricula provide advanced competencies in math, science, communication, and technologies. The Tech Prep program integrates academic, occupational, and employability competencies at all educational levels. Curriculum competencies are designed jointly by local business, industry, and labor representatives along with high school teachers and college faculty. The competencies are sequenced to allow a seamless transition from high school to college. All Tech Prep programs at Colerain and Northwest have college articulation agreements with Greater Cincinnati Tech Prep Consortium.

Students that have additional questions about these programs can contact the program instructors or speak to their guidance counselor.
