I walk in the door the familiar smell engulfs me, we have only been in this house 12 weeks, I am so glad it is here. Leaving what waswhat I thought a dream house I was skeptical that genuine comfort would ever been found again. I had believed it was the location,my own private bathroom or perhaps the overall size. The house was so large that I could get lost, when wanting to.

I enter the room; I hear my family moving around doing laundry and late afternoon chores. We have moved into a familiar routine.Our large round dining room table hosts our even meal, where the day is recanted and plans for tomorrow are set. It is the same tablewe have been eating at for years, where we have had fancy parties, pizza get-togethers and angry conversations. My brother makes uslaugh as he recalls the team mate that whipped out Kentucky Fried Chicken in the dugout earlier that day. All of this during a baseballgame! Dinner is quickly over and I move towards my bedroom, much smaller in size then the previous one but just as girly! My Momhad cleaned it earlier today, cleaning sheets, dusting and picking up all the clothes on the floor. I love the comfort of freshly cleanedsheets.

Darkness is entering through the windows and the dogs are hungry. I open the door to feed them and look into their eager faces.The dogs have settled into the new house, and enjoy chasing the animals which inhabit the property. The sounds are different here, thetrees and forest whisper as they move, I am used to a quiet breeze off of the lake. We go outside and sit by the fire-pit, a real fire pitwhere we use wood to light the fire, hoping it will catch. Our old one turned on with the flip of a switch. We laugh, talk and decide itis way too cold to sit outside any longer, and we have no marshmallows to roast.

We get ready for bed, snuggle on the couch and fight for the remote. Each one of us looking for our show that we may have recordedearlier in the week. Blankets are scattered all over the floor, along with glass after glass filled with water, and melted ice. No one inthis house will use a cup more than once. First off to bed is Henry, he will also be the first to rise. Mom and Dad are quickly behindhim, and I find myself alone in the quietness of the house. It is the same quietness that I stayed up to for many years, and I relish theopportunity to quietly think. Thinking about where I have been where I will go, and as long as I am safe, warm and loved I will be home.
