ethiopia hunda oli coffee is passion and dedication at one line coffee, we specialize in sourcing and roasting seasonal, single farm coffees in an ethical and sustainable way. we believe in giving credit to a farmer, and work hard to match their passion when we roast. visit us at onelinecoffee.com so juicy, you’ll forget it’s coffee. tons of pink and white flowers on the nose, turning to fruit in the cup. lots of stone fruit (think peach), with very sweet pomegranate notes contribute to a juicy flavor. black tea, marshmal- low, and marmalade combine with a milk chocolate finish to create a super complex cup. truly a great example of what’s possible in ethiopia. hunda oli is a very small cooperative located near agaro in the gomma district of the jimma zone. it consists of only 171 farmers, including 50 female members. they work closely with technoserve, an international non-profit who helps them navigate the specialty coffee supply chain, as well as provides technical assistance in the cultivation and processing off their coffee. hunda oli has helped their community by building an elementary school and 15 spring water access points over the past few years. perhaps the most unusual aspect of this coffee is the fact it’s grown under old growth forests in a minimally invasive way. rather than clear cut and start from scratch, they’re integrated their farms into these forests, resulting in a sustainable endeavor that promotes biological diversity. this coffee is grown between 1950 and 2100 meters. the coffee is processed within 8 hours of picking, and is fully washed. it is dried on raised beds, and consists of heirloom varieties.
