BackgroundOver 1000 published clinical studies have featured SphygmoCor® noninvasive central blood pressure technology. Major independent studies such as the Conduit Artery Function Evaluation (CAFE) Study, the Strong Heart Study and the Anglo-Cardiff Study have demonstrated that noninvasive central pressure measurement provides important data that cannot be obtained with standard brachial cuff blood pressure measurement.
SphygmoCor Regulatory StatusSphymoCor technology received FDA clearance in 2002 after demonstrating performance substantially equivalent to invasive aortic monitoring catheters.
SphygmoCor testing is indicated when physicians wish to obtain central blood pressure data but believe that the risks of invasive monitoring outweigh the benefits.
