Recruitment

Bid Day!

The school year started off with two full weeks of Formal Recruitment. Over two weekends, all four rounds were held boasting a new color scheme each day! We shared two wonderful videos with Potential New Members during Philanthropy and Skit rounds, as well as a dance and a Jimmy Kimmel themed skit during third round. We finished off strong with a meaningful preference ceremony. Thank you to out Vice President of Membership, Sarah Jane Petrucciani, and our many advisors for planning and executing these great events!

On Bid Day, Kappa Pi welcomed 77 beautiful members! Our New Doves ran down Bowman Field and were greeted with hugs, cheers and gifts! Group photos were taken on the quad and later a NFL themed party was held at the Clemson Outdoor Lab. Our seniors cherished their last bid day by jumping into the reflection pond, a senior tradition looked forward to by many since freshman year. Kappa Pi is so excited to get to know all of our new members! Thank you to our Vice President of New Member Education, Ashley Tant, for an awesome Bid Day!

Parents’ Cocktail & Silent Auction

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Kappa Pi held their Parents’ Cocktail and 1st Annual Silent Auction at the Lake House at The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards, in Sunset, SC during mid-September. Guests mingled and dined on delicious food while bidding on various items. Action pieces included autographed Clemson memorabilia, rounds of golf at multiple locations, a vacation stay on Hilton Head Island, Clemson and Sigma Kappa themed baskets and so much more! The event raised a total of $3800. Thank you to Hayley Deutsch, Vice President of Alumnae Relations, for a wonderful evening.

Kappa Pi participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 19, 2015 in Anderson, SC. The chapter fundraised $24,359 for the Alzheimer’s Association, doubling the amount raised for last year’s walk! Members Maggie Craig and Holly Mettlen each raised over $1,000. Sisters enjoyed the morning walking the 2 mile course, educating other walkers on Sigma Kappa and Alzheimer’s, and spending time with each other. Members from the community as well as students of the Clemson Life Program walked along side our Sigma Kappa team to #EndAlz. Thank you to our Vice President of Philanthropic Service, Kayla Davis, for leading our team!
