2015 upcoming events helpful tipFind tHe PerFect sPot For your waLL artFound the perfect wall art for your blank wall? Now you just need to find the perfect spot on that wall.
Artwork preference can say a lot about a person, and displaying them can add personality to your home. However, hanging the wall art on the wall is a lot more than just hammering a nail to the wall. Finding the right spot for that nailwill take some measurement and math skills so the art won’t be too high or too low. Fortunately, there is a magicnumber that will help with hanging the artwork at the perfect spot: 57 inches, the average human eye height. Measured from the floor up, that’s the spot where the center of your artwork should be.
Follow this simple instruction to find out that perfect spot:1. Measure and lightly mark 57” on the wall2. Measure artwork and divide by 2 (this gives you the center)3. Measure top of your picture to the tightened wire (a small amount)4. Subtract “tight wire” amount from 1/2 height amount for the “to the hook” amount. This will tell you how far above 57” your hook should go5. Lightly mark wall just above 57” with the “to the hook” amount
Example:1. Picture is 20” tall2. Middle is at 10” (this mid point should rest at 57”)3. Wire comes to 2” below the top4. 10” - 2” = 8”5. Lightly mark 8” above your first mark OR 65” on the wall

grey is tHe new neutraLGrey has been a popular neutral color choice in home decoration for some years. Unlike other neutral colors such as beige, cream, or earth tones, grey works surprisingly well with other colors, whether it’s warm or cool tone. It is also a color that is suitable for both gender and all ages, so if by painting the child’s room grey instead of pink or blue or green, it will save you time and money with future redecoration once the child has grown up.
Having grey furniture is the same, just alternating the accent pieces will give you a completely different look, which beats buying a new set of furniture. Next time you are thinking of redecorating the house, give grey a try!

cHina caBinet: Designed and built to protect and display formal dinnerware and flatware, china cabinets are so named because of the fine porcelain dinnerware invented and perfected by the Chinese more than a thousand years ago. Set up in a formal dining area or the living room, the glass-paneled wood-framed doors offer multiple display shelves for showing off family heirloom.

HutcH: The hutch, on the other hand, is a multipurpose piece of furniture that can be used almost anywhere in the house. Hutches typically have a freestanding unit that contains cabinets, a display case, or both, that sits atop its bottom half made in one piece, which is what differentiates it from a china cabinet. The hutch’s lower half has a countertop, cabinets or drawers. You can find china hutches -- different from china cabinets -- kitchen hutches and the buffet hutch.

BuFFet: Sometimes also referred as buffet table, server, or sideboard, is the cabinet where the hutch sits on. It has drawers to store dining utensils, hardware, plates, etc. It also has the flat tabletop that can be use as serving platform when used without the hutch.
