• 1951:the Working Party for the coal Industry was set up (representatives of coal industry, labour unions and government), 11 collieries
• 1971:The Coking Coal Mines Act 1971 was promulgated on 16 October 1971 (IISCO, TISCO, and DVC)
• 1972: Took over management of : 226 coking coal mines & nationalised them on 1 May, 1972
• 1975: CIL was formed with NCDL & CMAL
