* Guided Discovery: creating exercises in training in which the players are expected to solve problems presented by the exercise

Teaching Methods•Stopping the activity: freeze action, review what occurred, rehearse with correct picture, restart with success in the targeted technical execution or tactical choice

Training Activities to Improve Technical Activity

•Helping players acquire technical skill through activities with controlled pressure

- adapt size of space to increase challenge - increase or decrease numbers of opponents to adjust challenge level

•Small group possession games; 3v1, 4v2, 5v3; can be used to teach technique or tactics

•Directional games for improving dribbling and tackling; 1v1 in channels; 1v1+1

Small-Sided Games

• Games of 2v2 through 6v6 can be used to teach techniques or tactics

•Use variations to change focus and teaching emphases: - uneven numbers - neutral players - small goals - target players - end zones, channels, neutral zones - more than two goals - three or four teams - designate number of touches per player -change field shape (circles, triangles) - move to large goals, with goalkeepers
