A Family Business for over 100 years... Established in 1909, Johnsons Coaches is now in its third generation of family ownership.

In the 1920s, Mr JG Johnson swapped his horse for his first motorised vehicle and the company set up its office and depot in Henley High Street, which remained there until 1987.

In the 1930s, the business passed to Phil Johnson who ran the company up until his sudden death in 1966 - a this time the company was still very small, operating 2 lorries, 4 coaches and an old taxi.

In 1979 Peter and John Johnson (the current owners) joined the family business. Better coaches were purchased and Johnsons ran its first holidays and excursions in 1981. The rest as they say, is history!

Coach Specifications Our large fleet of modern air conditioned vehicles provides you with the highest standards of comfort, reliability and safety. We have coaches to suit every occasion and size of group.

Up to 7 passengers: Our Volkswagen People Carriers are a great choice for executive transfers and days out for small groups. They are air-conditioned and also have excellent legroom and luggage capacity.

Up to 24 passengers: Choose either a 16 seat (shown in the picture to the left) or 24 seat Mini-Coach for small or medium sized groups. These smart little coaches have air conditioning, reclining seats with extra leg room, PA and music system, seatbelts and CD players. These vehicles have been ordered bespoke, with reduced seating capacity to provide a more spacious and comfortable seating environment with extra leg room.

Up to 63 passengers: We offer 59 and 63 seat extra-long 3 axle ‘Executive’ coaches for when you need comfortable and convenient travel for larger groups. These are ideal for school groups as they can fit two classes on one coach and save you money.

Up to 53 passengers: Our Executive coaches offer full on board facilities complete with on board toilet/washroom, DVD player, hot drinks facilities, refrigerator, PA/music system, climate control air conditioning, reclining seats, seatbelts and tinted windows.

Do you have public liability?

Yes, we are fully insured with Equity Red Star, our Policy Number is CV1708905/31/01

Are your drivers CRB checked?

All our drivers are carefully selected and have been checked with the Criminal Records Bureau. The majority are members of the Institute of Advanced Drivers.

Do you provide risk assessments for schools?

We have a standard risk assessment for school transport.

What support do you offer in the event of a breakdown?

We provide full support for customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

What are your disabled facilities?

Presently, we do not have any vehicles especially adapted for the carriage of wheelchair users. However, if a passenger is able to manage the short flight of stairs at the entrance of our vehicles, there is ample room to store the wheelchairs on the vehicle and many of our customers use this facility.

What group sizes do you cater for?

Johnsons have a large, air conditioned fleet of coaches. We off hire from groups as small as 8 and our largest coaches offer 70 seats.

Who is the best person to contact to make a coach hire booking?

Please contact our Private Hire Team - they are always available between 8am and 5.30pm. However, you can request a coach hire quote 24 hours a day on our website.
