Daily Overview (March 25, 2020) Intensive work on standardization of best practices related to COVID-19 is underway. Safety: A modified shelter in place declaration for Georgia, and a more stringent 14-day stay at home order for Atlanta continues. IR has begun simulations for donning and doffing of PPE. Methods: Documents standardizing best practices for invasive procedures, imaging room cleaning, and reading room cleaning have been finalized. Our workflows for ED, inpatient, and outpatient imaging and image-guided procedures related to COVID-19 have been outlined in a document and will be disseminated. Clinical divisions should have frequent communication (through virtual means) during this time. Equipment: Emory and Grady home interpretation workstations for radiologists have started deployment. Preventative maintenance for imaging equipment is being deferred for March, April, and May. Any necessary repairs will continue to be scheduled. Supplies: Additional sources of PPE continue to be explored and additional shipments are arriving for use. Staffing: Testing of Microsoft Teams for screen sharing during trainee readout has been successful and can be used across clinical sites as divisions continue to consolidate staffing.
