This tragedy gave the motive to establish a District Foundation.
In 1980, Dr. Forror (Dgov79-80) asked permission to create a Sponsored Youth Scholarship Fund, which was approved at the 60th annual Kiwanis DCON. This is the scholarship that those in Circle K, Key Club and KIWIN’S can apply for today.
In 1994, the Foundation developed the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP), and in 2004, it was expand with the Kiwanis Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, a.k.a., the “Kiwanis Doctor.”
