FEATURED ARTISTS

Phil Keaggy / www.philkeaggy.comPhil Keaggy is perhaps one of the most admired guitarists in music today. His fans range from those who aspire just to be able to play Keaggy’s mistakes, to professional musicians who have been strongly influenced by his style. And in between are those who don’t play guitar, yet find solace in his beautifully penned lyrics and memorable melodies. Phil’s solo career has spanned more than 30 years, and has included over 50 solo albums, both vocal and instrumental, as well as 8 releases with his band, Glass Harp. One of the most sought after studio guitarists, Phil also continues to sell out concerts all over the United States, with his ever-changing style, ranging from rock-and-roll to fully orchestrated instrumental compositions.

Brenton Brown / www.brentonbrown.comA gifted songwriter and musician, Brenton has written many worship songs, including “Everlasting God,” “Lord, Reign in Me,” “All Who Are Thirsty,” and “Hallelujah (Your Love is Amazing).” Everlasting God was released with Survivor and with Sparrow in the States. In 2005 the Browns reluctantly left London and their home church of Holy Trinity Brompton for California. Since then they have been welcomed into the Horizon family of churches and have traveled across the States and beyond leading worship in churches as far afield as Sweden and Korea. 2008 saw the arrival of a baby daughter called Bella, and Brenton’s second solo project, ‘Because of Your Love.’ Brenton has been lucky enough to have his songs recorded by Chris Tomlin and Lincoln Brewster. He has 5 songs in CCLI’s top 100.

Israel Houghton / www.israelhoughton.netIsrael Houghton has seen his compositions become integral components for progressive now-generation churches. Flanked by voices filled with joy, purpose and conviction singing over galvanizing arrangements of music with African, Middle Eastern and South American slants, Israel and New Breed have swiftly amassed a legion of followers that crosses generational and cultural lines. And as barriers are blasted away, the sprawling cutting-edge unit has been fittingly graced with two Gold-selling albums, four Dove Awards, two Stellar Awards, a Soul Train Award, six 2007 Grammy® Award nominations, and two Grammy® Awards.

newworldson / www.newworldson.comArmed with inspirational lyrics and world class musicianship, NEWWORLDSON rescues soul music from being a mere genre and returns the art form to its sacred roots. Singer Joel Parisien says “if you trace back the roots of ‘roots’ music, of ‘soul’ music, of ‘folk’ music, it’s about folks; it’s social music. We hope our fans become our family. We hope they leave our shows feeling inspired. Our ministry is about uplifting people.” With the force of an orchestra, Josh Toal (guitar, vocals), Rich Moore (bass, vocals), Mark Rogers (drums) and Parisien (vocals, keys) come together to form a revolutionary four-piece gospel combo.Gungor / www.gungormusic.comMichael Gungor has been leading worship since he was 12 years old, if you count an audience of 2- and 3-year olds. From there he graduated to children’s church, then youth group, then adults. Gungor studied jazz in college, then connected with teen ministry Acquire the Fire and a position at Resurrection Life Church in Michigan. Michael and his wife Lisa moved to Denver and eventually founded a community of believers called Bloom. The connection between worship and social justice became concrete in Denver,

and the outcome is evident on Beautiful Things. “If leading worship is just about bringing a group of people into a room so we can get goosebumps and sing songs together, there’s not much value in that. But if leading worship is a means to an end, that we leave this place as a different kind of people, as part of a new humanity that God wants to create – the people that are caring for the widows and orphans, that aren’t bound by the systems of this world but becoming free, becoming fully engaged in our world – then that matters.”

Andy Park / www.andypark.caAndy began recording with Vineyard Music Group in the late 1980s. His recordings include “The River Is Here”, “Blessed Be The Name”, “Night and Day” and “In the Secret”. In the Secret is among the top 60 songs sung in churches through North America. In 2007 Andy’s recording “Unshakable” was released in partnership with ION Worship. Andy is a contributing writer for the Compassionart CD released in January 2009. His latest recording “Wonder Working God” was released internationally in June of 2009, also with ION Worship. Over the past two decades, he has been a pastoral staff member of several different Vineyard churches. Andy’s book “To Know You More – Cultivating the Heart of A Worship Leader”, published by InterVarsity Press, was released in July, 2002. It was awarded Book of the Year by WorshipMusic.com for 2003. He and his wife Linda reside in Surrey, British Columbia and have eight beautiful children: Zachary, David, Michael, Jessica, Benjamin, Isaac, Ian and Elizabeth.Brandon Bee / www.brandonbeemusic.comThe pop/rocker first came to the attention of the production world under the mentorship of producer Lou Carto (Randy Travis, B.B. King) and Dove Award-nominated Christian artist/ producer Morgan Cryar. After moving back to the Northwest from Nashville, Bee began producing bands in Seattle’s growing Christian music scene and traveling to Nashville, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Canada to produce artists including Amber Pacific, Jaime Jamgochian, Lanae Hale, Juno Award nominee/Island Award winner Matthew James and GRAMMY Award nominee/Dove Award winner Stacie Orrico. Bee most recently produced Circleslide’s exciting new CD, Echoes of the Light. Bee is a sought-after worship leader at churches and conferences across the country.

Rick Cua / www.rickcua.comNot just a musical artist, Rick knows the business of music as well. Besides being a music publisher, artist manager and booking agent, he founded and ran his own record label, UCA Records, in the 1990s which led to a position for five and 1⁄2 years as Vice President, Creative/Copyright Development at EMI CMG in Nashville. He is currently on staff as the minister of Pastoral

Care and Visitation at Grace Chapel in Franklin, TN.Tony Morra / www.tonymorra.com

Nashville studio drummer Tony Morra is a chameleon of sorts: Gigs on top pop, country and Christian albums, as well as his contributions to the Heavy Mental Discrete Drums library require him to deliver clean, tight drum tracks. In addition to playing in the top studios of Music City, Morra also has a list of e-clients who send him their tracks so he can lay down drums in his studio. Here’s a short list of artists he’s working with: Ayeshia Woods, Amy Grant, Alex M (Laguna Beach), Nicole

Mullen, Avalon, Britt Nicole, Rebecca St. James, The Katina’s, and many more.Emedin Riverawww.emedinrivera.comEmedin started playing the bongos at the age of 8, and his exposure and passion for music came from his father and uncle who both played in a trio in Puerto Rico. He has developed his own system of playing drums and congas simutaneously, (sounding like three people), calling it “Percussion Kit.” Emedin is well known for his sound effects, many of which are hand made by him. They can be heard on some of the National Geographic shows. Emedin has performed live with Harry Belafante, Gregory Hines, Paquito De Rivera, Vicky Sue Robinson, Angela Bofill, Gloria Gaynor, Ben E King, Dave Samuels, Dave Valentine, Andy Narell, and Latoya Jackson just to name a few. Will McFarlane www.willmcfarlane.comWill McFarlane spent six years playing guitar with Bonnie Raitt, from 1974 to 1980. McFarlane learned how to listen as well as play while in Raitt’s band. His musical education was a versatile one, encompassing straight blues, country blues, folk, country, rock ‘n’ roll, as well as singer-songwriter material. Raitt was sharing stages with living blues legends, and McFarlane soaked up as much as he could from them before and after the gigs. McFarlane left Raitt to move to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, playing on records for Bobby Blue Bland, Little Milton, Etta James and Johnnie Taylor as part of the famed Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.

Jonathan Lee / www.jleeworship.comJonathan Lee’s debut 2010 release, Let Them Hear, showcases a collection of 11 songs calling the church body to proclaim the Truth of the gospel. Quickly becoming known in the Nashville songwriter community as a prolific melody and lyric man, there is a great possibility

you have already heard one of his songs.

Mike was educated at Pepperdine University and Fuller Theological Seminary.
