  • CMAST Naming Conventions WG Conference Call Meeting Notes

    Monday, August 9, 2010 4:05 EDT

    In attendance:

John Lewis (NFRC), Facilitator Joseph Holmes (EFCO) John McFee (WDMA) Luke Turner (HTL) Marcia Falke (Keystone) Catherine Best (Benson) Greg McKenna (Kawneer) Stacy Germann (NFRC)

    • John Lewis – presented a Power Point presentation to the group illustrating the new naming conventions in CMAST and the corresponding fields in a bid report

o John Lewis – noted to add to the CMAST Upgrade List to expand the size of the ‘Name’ and ‘Description’ fields in the Assemblies screen so as to avoid the text being truncated

o Note: these two key fields in CMAST affect what is displayed on Bid Reports and Label Certificates Assemblies: ‘Product Name’ field on the Product screen in CMAST is used as the

‘Name’ field in the Product Listing section ‘Description’ field on the Product screen in CMAST is used as the

‘Description’ field in the Frame, Glazing, and Spacer Assemblies section • Joseph Holmes – questioned in Glazing Description if listing emissivity and gas fill

percentage is more information that necessary because there would be additional explanation by the ACE which could be cumbersome

    • Joseph Holmes – questioned are these naming conventions going to be mandatory or mere guidelines

o John Lewis – at this point there is no discussion on making it mandatory o Greg McKenna – agreed that these should remain recommendations

    • Catherine Best – suggested these new guidelines be integrated into ongoing ACE Training as well as ACE Workshops.

    • With no further action on this topic, John Lewis will work on a final report to present at the NFRC Fall Membership Meeting in San Francisco, CA.

o Will send out today’s presentation to all ACE Organizations, ASL’s, IA’s, and ACE Individuals for their review prior to the Fall meeting and post on NFRC website

Call ended at 4:42 pm EDT.
