Modernizing Cook County’s Asset Management

• President Toni Preckwinkle issued an Executive Order placing a moratorium on all non-essential capital projects in the planning and design phases.

• Resulted in a comprehensive review of CIP projects.

• Non-essential projects were deferred.

• Critical life safety, public safety, and Cook County Health and Hospitals System projects were reprioritized.

• First ever comprehensive real estate assessment evaluates more than 100 County buildings with approximately 17.5M square feet of space and structures.
