Internal changes
Implementation of new log files– Give more information:
in particular specify the type of errors and
warnings.
Integration of the High Resolution process– Data needed for surface flux products
CM-SAF Board Meeting , Offenbach, 18-19/4/2005
Status input products: GERB/SEVIRI
Currently used as input in order of priority: – GERB (not released)
– GERB-like from SEVIRI data
Product file contains the list of input files that were actually used.
No more correction of the GERB/SEVIRI data in the CM-SAF software, will be done in near-real time GERB Processing.
CM-SAF Board Meeting , Offenbach, 18-19/4/2005
GERB status
Planned release: September 2005 Planned reprocessing: as soon as possible Known data quality problems:
– Spectral response (affects TRS)
– Known problem: TET for hot desert
– Clear sky ocean flux estimation Instrument in safe mode during eclipse seasons
CM-SAF Board Meeting , Offenbach, 18-19/4/2005
Status input products: CERES
Currently used: ES9, Terra, FM1, Edition 1– Available up to February 2005
Better: ES9, Terra/FM1 + Aqua/FM3, Edition 2– Available up to Dec 2003
More advanced: SRBAVG– Better angular models, better spatial resolution
– Still waiting for !
– Currently only available for TRMM up to 2000

Conclusions
Continue to check operational chains. GERB data release planned for September 2005. So reprocessing.....
