Compact design with a thin overall profile. Zero backlash armatures can be built into

custom hubs. Clutches and brakes field assemblies can accommodate bearings for

additional shaft support.

Units come standard with zero backlash armature. Units are normally produced in a

high torque version but a lower torque is also available. Options include an

automatic air gap that adjusts as the clutch wears, a quiet armature option that

reduces clutch engagement noise and a one piece designed option that simplifies

mounting.

assembly features a custom-molded gear or timing pulley designed to your

specifications. Most clutches use a permanent magnet to disengage the armature.

Units can be configured as a clutch or a brake depending upon mounting. Torque is

consistent over a given speed range because it is produced magnetically. There is no

wear, units have a very long life. Each unit has an adjustable torque range that can be set

by the user and since the units operate via permanent magnets, no external controls or

power is required.

Permanent-Magnet Mag-Particle Slip Clutches and Drag Brakes

Torque Range: 0.27~3.5in-lbs / 0.03~0.4Nm

Designed for continuous slip or overload protection. Torque is produced magnetically

eliminating high breakaway torques that can occur with mechanical devices. Units are

sealed to prevent contamination. Torque is consistent over given speed range. Units can

be provided with hollow bores or with stainless steel customized shafts.

Heavy Duty Clutches

Torque Range: 37~1475ft-lbs/50~2000Nm

Suited for marine and mobile applications. Bi-directional spring resists engine vibration and

shock. Output can be modified to meet application requirements, or clutch can be

purchased with armature only to bolt on to a customer supplied hub.

Tooth Clutches

Torque Range: 18~2950ft-lbs/25~4000Nm

Designed for high torque small space requirements where no slip is desired. Clutch or

brake can be used dry or in an oil bath. A zero backlash option is available. Zero drag

torque when clutch is disengaged. Optional model, MZS, with single position

engagement is available.

Multiple Disk Clutches and Brakes

Torque Range: 13~6196ft-lbs/18~8400Nm

Designed for high torque small space requirements. Multiple disks produce high

torque in a compact design. Separate drive cup allows for easy connection to a gear

or pulley. Optional series, MWC, and MWB, allow the clutches or brakes to be used

in a gear box (oil bath.)

Permanent Magnet and Magnetic Particle Clutches and Brakes

Torque Range: 4.4~144ft-lbs/0.5~195Nm

For applications requiring fast response and a stable torque. Ideal for continuous slip in

tension applications. Largest series have optional built in cooling fans or cooling ports.

Voltage to torque is linear, so output torque can be easily controlled. Torque is transmitted

via internal magnetic powder, so unit life is extremely long.
