*During the racing season we endeavour to open the office seven days a week. Sometimes this is not possible due to staff holidays or absence. In the closed season the office is open Monday to Friday only, except for periods of staff holiday or absence. If you require assistance from staff, it is advisable to call in advance of your visit.

Welcome to the 2018 season – the 80th anniversary of NBYC’s first sailing season in 1938. Within this programme you will find details of the racing, social and training events planned for the coming year.

Look out for 80th Anniversary events through the year, including an Anniversary Celebration Evening on 27th May. We will also be running a series of themed Friday Club Nights in mid-season, including stand up paddle boarding, remote control model yacht racing, a beer and gin festival and guest speakers. Keep an eye on the website for further details of upcoming social events and menus for the 2018 Bistro Nights.

A comprehensive range of training opportunities are on offer, and if you can’t see what you would like, just ask and we will try to provide it.

All the established racing events remain, though as Eric Morecambe might say, “not necessarily in the right order”. This year Wroxham Week has been pushed one week later in the season, to accommodate the late break up of schools in the area. This has led to some changes in other aspects of the racing calendar, so check the sailing programme carefully to be sure you don’t miss any events.

The Commodore’s chosen charity this year is the Big C cancer charity.

Finally, I would like to thank the staff and all the volunteers who have given many hours preparing for this coming season, enabling members and their guests to have a fantastic time in 2018.

Gary Ross, Commodore

Welcome
