DON’T FORGET the Lanxess/Chemtura picnic fundraiser for Union County 4-H is this Saturday, May 12th , 8:30—2:00 at the Park off of Feedmill Road. All 4-H families are needed, parents and youth. This qualifies to pay your registration fee for District and State O’Rama. Many hands make light work!!!

HOW TO BE A MEMBER

To maintain your 4-H membership in 2016-2017 you must: 1. Enroll in Arkansas 4-H On-Line (if you need help call (870) 864-1916 or ask a certified 4-H Volunteer

Leader. 2. Attend a minimum of 6 organized club meetings per year with a recognized club in your County. 3. OR attend and participate in a minimum of 6 educational workshops or clinics conducted by Extension Staff

and Volunteer Leaders. (Dates to be announced) 4. Follow all rules and regulations set forth in the 4-H Code of Conduct (Members sign when enrolling) A Certified or chartered 4-H Club must: 1. Be organized and supervised by a minimum of 2 unrelated certified 4-H Adult Volunteer Leaders. (Leaders

are required to attend 4 hours of youth development training each year). 2. A club must have at least 6 members not of the same immediate family. 3. Have a duly elected set of functioning officers and conduct meetings monthly (as possible) using Roberts

Rules of Order and operate under a set of approved By-Laws (Union County has a set in place.

2018 Union County Fair Jr. Livestock Show

If you and your family plan to raise and exhibit a livestock project at the 2018 Union County Fair please con-tact Livestock Show Manager Mr. Tracy Roden at 870-314-2544 and/or your County Agent or Vo-Ag Instruc-tor. You must be a bona-fide member of a Union County 4-H Club or FFA Chapter and between the ages of 9 and 19 to be eligible to exhibit and sell a market animal.

Possession Deadline Steers—May 1st Hogs, Lambs, and Goats July 1st.

Breeding Stock All Species—July 1st Call 864-1916 if you need help or more infor-mation!!!

UNION COUNTY 4-H SPIN CLUB MEETING SCHEDULE 10:00 a.m.—Noon

ANY 4-H MEMBER WHO HAS FAILED TO MAKE THEIR 6 CLUB MEETING REQUIREMENT FOR ACTIVE MEMBER-SHIP IS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND ANY AND ALL MEEETINGS AVAILABLE. TOPICS TO BE COVERED IN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM WILL BE DETERMINED BY THOSE IN ATTENDANCE. ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP IS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
