6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES. Remove all sources of ignition, do not smoke. Small spillages should be cleaned up using paper towels or rags which should be disposed of properly. Bulk spills should be avoided by ensuring the correct procedures for transport and storage of containers are carried out. If spills or leaks do occur care must be taken to avoid environmental impacts by firstly, physically contain the spill. Second, clear spill away using appropriate materials and methods. Third, rinsing and flushing to drains serviced by a sanitary sewer. Under no circumstances should spills be flushed direct to sewer except with the express permission of local regulatory authorities and fire service. Care should be taken to avoid excessive foaming during clean up to avoid slippery surfaces.
