ADVANTAGES ADVANTAGES (Cont.)4. Updation of Technology: Change is an inevitableprocess. The government has to handle many costs(software, network bandwidth, personnel training etc.)whenever there is a change or update in technology.Such costs can be greatly reduced on part of thegovernment if these considerations are handled by thecloud provider.
5.Software Licensing: With multiple installations of thesame software at multiple workstations in the variousdepartments, a huge amount of recurring cost isinvolved in the name of Software Licensing fee whichis renewed after some period of time. In the cloudconcept, one does not have to purchase the license forevery software that is to be used. Just a usage fee ischarged for the time the software is being accessed bythe consumer.
.
1.Availabil ity:The cloud is responsible to provide 24x7access of its service uptime to the consumers. Thegovernment agencies can get benefitted in a way thatthey do not have to maintain the infrastructure andhence no delays in the delivery of services to theusers.
2.Disaster Recovery: The cloud service providersgenerally maintain their data centers at multiplelocations that are geographically distributed. In caseof any natural calamity, the data can be wellrecovered as multiple copies are being maintained. The important documents need not be taken care offrom a physical storage point of view by thegovernment agencies. 3. Transparency: As the cloud provides measurableservices, activities of the users can be well auditedagainst any type of misuse. This also helps provide amechanism against corruption. There can be nounnecessary delays in the processing of documents.

Advantages(Cont.)5.Reliability: As the resources are being pooled fromvarious unknown locations and appropriatedaccording to the consumer demand, there is increasein the reliability of resources as the cloud serviceprovider is bound to provide non-stop services to itsclients. The client, on the contrary, does not have toworry about the availability or non-availability of therequired resources.6. Reporting for Policy Planning and nforcement:Theupper level management can get instant access tothereports from various departmentssimultaneously.Thedesired information is available as and when
required7. Scalability: The ability of the cloud architecture toprovide rapid scaling helps the government agenciesin a great deal to magnify the scope of their projectswithout thinking much about resource pooling.
Advantages(Cont.)8.Scalability: The ability of the cloud architecture toprovide rapid scaling helps the government agenciesin a great deal to magnify the scope of their projectswithout thinking much about resource pooling.
9.Environment Friendly: All the data gets stored in acentralized fashion over the cloud. The operations of multiple data centers are not desired. There is no need for additional air conditioning in the server rooms hence no more chloro-fluoro carbon emission. Cloudcomputing also results in lesser use of paper in theoffices
