THE STORY OF BARNABY THE JUGGLER WILL BE TOLD AT CORPUS CHRISTI CHURCH
ROUND LAKE - on Tuesday, June 17, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Who is Barnaby you ask? Barnaby wanders from town to town, juggling balls and pins. He often finds himself alone at night and wondering if there is more to life. Can you relate to Barnaby? Are you wandering about and wondering what life is all about? What is going to bring happiness and fulfill-ment? Have you wondered about God? Faith? The Catholic Church? The Roman Catholic Community of Corpus Christi is sponsoring an informal gathering to share the story of Barn-aby and to answer questions you may have concerning the Catholic faith. We will gather in the Church Hall, 2001 Route 9 at Ushers Road in Round Lake on the 17th at 7 p.m. Contact Justin Loviglio at [email protected] or Karen Stockton, 371-7359 or [email protected]

CALLING ALL MENTORS!CAPITAL DISTRICT - I am I can is a 501(c)3 organization that was created to mentor girls in grades 9 - 12. Programs pro-vide needed encouragement, guidance and advocacy to students as they navigate their high school years and move toward post-graduation goals. We are seeking adult female mentors to work with students on a weekly basis. As a men-tor you would spend time with and get to know your student, while developing a relationship that provides support and guidance. If you are looking for some meaningful volunteer work, this may be for you. This program focuses not as much on job skill mentoring, but more on providing a positive role model in the student’s life. You will help the student to de-velop core values and “encourage young women to discover their dreams, to believe in endless possibilities while empow-ering them to make it happen”. The organization is currently looking for mentors in the Clifton Park to Glens Falls areas. Immediate needs are to support girls in Hudson Falls, South Glens Fall, Glens Falls, Shenendehowa, and Ballston Spa school districts. If you have time on a weekly or bi-weekly ba-sis and would like to have a positive impact on a girl in your community, please contact Founder, Avon Scherff at 518-688-3010 ext 102, or email [email protected].

SHARE THE BEAUTY OF YOUR COMMUNITY WITH A FRESH AIR
CHILD THIS SUMMERCAPITAL DISTRICT - This summer, share the beauty of your community with a Fresh Air child while enjoying the pure joys of summer in your own backyard! Thousands of volun-teer host families in rural, suburban, and small town com-munities across 13 states from Virginia to Maine and Canada open their hearts and homes to New York City children from low-income communities through The Fresh Air Fund’s Vol-unteer Host Family program. The Fresh Air Fund, an indepen-dent, not-for-pro t agency, has provided free summer expe-riences to more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Host families open their homes to children who might not otherwise be able to enjoy a summer away from New York City. Fresh Air children experience simple pleasures like running barefoot through the grass, swimming in a cool lake, and gazing at star- lled skies. Through the eyes of Fresh Air children, families often rediscover the beauty of their own communities. For more information on how you can make summer special for a Fresh Air child, contact Tenniel Hansen at 518-441-4407 or visit The Fresh Air Fund at www.freshair.org.

Saratoga County Animal Shelter
Open From Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm For Adoptions
Trixie. I am an adult spayed Pitbull mix.. I am housebroken and good with kids. I only get along with male dogs and I have a extremely high prey drive, so I do not get along with small animals. I was adopted and returned because I was not getting along with the female neighbors dog.Paulie. I am 2-3 year old neutered Pitbull Mix. I was brought in as a stray back in May of 2013. I have recently been to CaNine to Five, which is a program that helps with dog behavior modifi-cations. While there, they observed that I would not be good with small children due to my high energy. I do not do well with small dogs or other male dogs. They recommended a meet and greet with playful females only. I do very well being in a crate at night time and I walk great on a leash. My favorite thing is to stuff 2-3 tennis balls in my mouth. I sometimes do not want to give them back, so you have to distract me with a treat.Tarchyn. I am a 9 year old spayed Shepherd Mix. I am housebroken and good with kids. I have never been around cats and I do not get along with other dogs. I was brought to the shelter because I was going after other dogs.Spongy. I am a 6 month old male Pitbull Mix. I am house-broken and I am good with older kids. This is due to my puppy behavior. I am still young and willing to learn. I have never been around cats or other dogs yet. I was brought to the shelter because I was playing too rough with the young kids in the home.Nala. I am a 2 year old female. I am litter box trained, but I also like to go outside. I am good with older kids, other cats, and dogs. I was brought to the shelter because my owners were moving. I am a bit shy at first. I do like to be held. I would do best in a quiet home.Rex. I am a 6 year old neutered male. I am litter box trained and good with older kids. I have never been around other animals. I was brought to the shelter because I wasn't adjusting to the new baby in the home.Furby Jr. I am a 7 year old neutered male. I am litter box trained, good with kids, other cats, and dogs. I was brought to the shelter due to a house fire.Mocha. I am a 4 year old neutered male. I am litter box trained, good with kids, other cats, and dogs. I was brought to the shelter because an elderly family member was moving into the home.

PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN (Never known to fail). Oh, most beautiful flower of Mt. Carmel, fruitful vine splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me, herein you are my mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to answer me in this necessity. There are none that can withstand your power. Oh, show me herein you are my mother. Oh, Mary con-ceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee (3x). Holy Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3x). Sweet mother, I place this cause in your hands (3x). Holy Spirit, you who solve all problems, light all roads so that I can attain my goal, you who gave me the divine gift to forgive and forget all evil against me and that in all instances in my life you are with me, I want in this short prayer to thank you for all things as you confirm once again that I never want to be separated from you in eternal glory. Thank you for your mercy towards me and mine. The person must say this prayer 3 consecutive days, after 3 days the request will be granted. This prayer must be published after the favor is granted. Favor granted. H.C.
