Community Composting Pilot Program • Rust Belt Riders engaged with five gardens to provide composting by
bicycle which was collected from local businesses and residences.

Collinwood Rain Barrel • Linda Zolten Wood partnered with Famicos Foundation to offer rain
barrel painting workshops with the goal of engaging Cleveland residents with water conservation.

Composting Airport Coffee Grounds with Local Farms • Used coffee grounds were gathered from two coffee shops in
the Airport and collected by Groundz and taken to Rising Harvest Farm.

EcoVillage Gateway • With the help of Detroit Shoreway Community Development
Organization, a pocket park was redeveloped at the 65th rapid station.

Neighborhood Solutions • Solar panels and a wind turbine were installed to reduce
reliance on the electricity grid to operate the BioCellar.

Nursery Rhymes Doin’ Dirt • Development of a community garden that engages residents
from all age groups. Residents will plant trees, remediate soil, create walking paths and develop a rain barrel system.
Old Brooklyn Pollinator Project • Pollinator habitats were created to build awareness around
the issue of pollinator health and habits.

Possibilitarian Regenerative Community Homestead • The project focused on creating a culturally and biologically
diverse community space involving gardening.

Potluck in the Park • Slavic Village Development sponsored and neighborhoods came
together to enjoy a community meal where participants bring a dish to share featuring local ingredients.

Urban Community School Solar • Solar panels were installed at a school which resulted in
reduced energy use and carbon pollution reduction.

Greentopia • This is a three part project: (1) community planting day to
create a fall garden, (2) a community zero waste event called Greentopia that focuses on sustainability/climate action, and (3) creating a youth workforce to landscape and learn horticulture skills.
Glenville Re-Inspired Youth Landscaping Cleveland youth will be hired and trained to provide landscaping and snow removal services to the Glenville neighborhood. Funds will be used to landscaping equipment that doesn’t produce emissions, such as non-gasoline mowers, to reduce air pollution and use of fossil fuels.

The Grocery/Chickens- Hoop House
This project will support monthly educational community workshops, materials for community gardens, purchase of seeds and chickens, and materials for a chicken coop and hoop house to enable food to be produced year round to encourage eating local, healthy foods free of packaging and preservatives.
CiCLEvia • CiCLEvia closes the streets to cars and opens them to people,
encouraging them to be active, build community, and engage in a culture of health.

Collinwood Garden Expansion • The addition of 6,140 sq. ft. of land will create a more
enjoyable walking path that creates a welcoming community space within the garden by installing a privacy fence, mulch, vegetables, and perennials.

NS Collinwood Art District HQ Green Parking lot • The project will combine economic development, art,
education, and sustainability with the addition of an apple orchard alongside a planned bioswale parking lot.

GardenWalk Cleveland 2017 • GWC organizes free tours of private and community gardens in the
city of Cleveland. Visitors explore neighborhoods and see how much the city is "greening." In 2017 Detroit-Shoreway and Collinwood is our focus.

Feed People, Not Landfills • Rust Belt Riders will work in communities across Cleveland to
create ‘wealth’ from ‘waste’ by turning discarded food into community assets.

• This project aims to empower at risk youth through gardening and environmental stewardship.

Bee-Lieve Harvest Festival • Familiarizing youth with green culture; water conservation,
growing your own foods, bee keeping, and healthy eating habits.

The Cleveland Refugee Bike Project
• The Cleveland Refugee Bike Project will provide refugees with bikes and training, giving them an economic lifeline that can connect them to new employment, educational, and social opportunities in Northeast Ohio.

Operation: Vegetables! • I hope to create more games for kids to learn about healthy foods –
active & fun. Creating community gardens if possible, with painted elements collecting rainwater to feed the vegetables.

Cleveland Bike Library • Bicycles will be purchased from local Cleveland bike shops for
students to check out at their school. Led by a CMSD student, in partnership with Safe Routes to School and Bike Cleveland.

Cleveland Roots Community Gardens • Cleveland Roots will expand its raised bed program to create a
community garden, promoting neighborhood resilience through education and opportunities to locally grow healthy produce.
Greening The Hood • Variety of afterschool programs for 60+ teenagers and their
families teaching the importance of environmental stewardship, climate change and promoting unity in the community. Will meet with them and Burten Bell Carr to make sure fiscal agent is set up and their work is integrated with other neighborhood projects.
