Our aim

To better protect Clementhorpe and South Bank, one of the city’s few

undefended communities, from its existing flood risk and the future implications

of climate change. We want to:

• provide a continuous line of defence and a high standard of

protection against flooding between Skeldergate Bridge and

Rowntree Park;

• Reduce the consequences of flooding in South Bank by installing

Property Flood Resilience products whilst supporting City of York Council

and the Clementhorpe Emergency Planning Group to increase

community resilience;

• utilise this ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to secure funding for a

scheme.
