Dear Colleagues:We would like to formally invite & welcome you to: The 2nd World Congress on Interventional Regenerative Orthopaedic Medicine (IROM) & The 33rd American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine Annual Conference and Scientific Seminar - “Interventional and Regenerative Orthopaedic Medicine in Motion”. This one-of-a kind event will take place in Clearwater Florida at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort from Wednesday, April 13th thru Saturday, April 16th, 2016. We are excited and proud not only by the 2016 AAOM Conference event but also of the AAOM organization. The AAOM is well grounded in evidence-based medicine, but the AAOM never fails to keep abreast of the future breakthroughs. If you want evidence –based, “out of the box, cutting edge” thinking and information, come to the AAOM – you will not find this type of program, camaraderie to share ideas, information you can trust from anyplace else. Every AAOM Educational program is approved for the maximum number of continuing medical education units possible, giving you assurance the information AAOM provides is unbiased, commercial free and the best scientifically based information to help you, help your patients. The field of Orthopedic Medicine is exploding! Though this explosion is quite positive for Orthopaedic medicine, it is important to be able to navigate around the technological advances, to avoid the pitfalls and be able to get what you need to enhance your patients and your practice. To that end we’ve worked to combine topics from the not so traditional Interventional Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine and Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine. We will have several lectures and workshops that include understanding the landscape of Orthopaedic Medicine today, Injection therapy techniques from palpation guided to image guided, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Prolotherapy 101 – A Primer, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy and various orthobiologic therapies, to name a few. The goal of this conference is to bring you state of the art information on techniques and technologies in Interventional and Regenerative Orthopaedic Medicine. We’ve titled the 2016 Conference, “Interventional and Regenerative Orthopaedic Medicine in Motion” – so let’s get going!

The AAOM isthe #1 Teaching Organization in the field of IROM!The AAOM is the world’s #1 teaching organization in the field of IROM! There is no other organization that comes close. The AAOM is rooted in the Orthopeadic fundamentals and evidence–based medicine, yet never fails to push the edge
NEEDS ASSESSMENTThe treatment of chronic pain is a complex and multifaceted problem. The faculty of this con-ference offer the participants detailed instruction in the use of Interventional and regenerative orthopae¬dic medicine proce-dures to treat musculoskeletal injury and pain, chronic pain, overuse and sports injuries. Due to an aging population, more ac¬tive lifestyles and patient desire for the relief of chronic pain, interventional and regen-erative or¬thopaedic medicine techniques including prolothera-py, PRP and stem cells provide effective and safe treatments.
COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe 33rd AAOM Annual Conference and Scientific Seminar will provide both lectures and practical instruction workshops on the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of orthopaedic medicine concerns.
of science, research and patient care – exploring new paradigms to help those in pain. The AAOM – beyond expertise – is a place where Physicians, Surgeons, Researchers, Physical Therapist, Chiropractors, Naturopaths, and other healthcare professionals converge to learn from each other, to share ideas and expand professional relationships. The camaraderie that you will experience at our conferences is like no other medical conference. Come see for yourself! This conference is for all practitioners of Musculoskeletal/Pain Medicine – regardless of medical specialty or discipline. We want to give you state of the art techniques and therapies that can help you - help your patients. Plan to be a part of the AAOM’s 2nd World Congress of IROM in Clearwater Beach Florida.

Goals & ObjectivesCourse Goal: Participants will receive a comprehensive review of anatomy, pathology, and pathophysiology of joint injury and degeneration. Participants will learn diagnostic and treatment and rehabilitative methods including uktrasound, injection therapies, OMT, Orthopaedic Medicine and nutritional and hormonal therapies to treat common pain conditions.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:• Understand the available research on regenerative injection (Prolotherapy)
treatments, including applications in pediatric, adult and elderly populations. • Perform, Evaluate and Interpret Diagnostic Ultrasound of the Hip, Knee and
Ankle. • Explain the biology of proper healing and the disease processes that impede
healing of musculoskeletal tissue. • Describe the pathophysiology of spinal segment sensitization and its role in
chronic pain. • Perform physical medicine examination and interventions in cases of spinal
segment sensitization.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
This conference was designed
for those interested in
using Interventional and
Regenerative Orthopaedic
Medicine treatments to treat
performance related pain and
injury, overuse syndromes
and chronic pain conditions.
The target audience
includes Sports Medicine
Physicians, PM&R specialists
(Physiatrists), Family Medicine
Physicians, Orthopedic
Surgeons, Neurologists, and
Interventional Pain Physicians;
including Anesthesiologists
and Osteopathic Pain
Physicians.
• Perform hands on diagnosis to determine sources of chronic non-malignant pain.
• Assess several injection techniques and solutions for treating chronic pain.
• Perform various Intra and Extra-articular Injection treatments for treating pain conditions.
• Describe investigational use of Platelet-Rich plasma and Autologous Stem Cell Therapy for treating Knee Osteoarthrosis.
• Perform some examination and evaluation methodologies for the knee, hip/pelvis, shoulder, and foot/ankle.
• Propose how various exercise and rehabilitation strategies can be integrated into treatment protocols to enhance proper healing of musculoskeletal tissues.
• Understand Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment in chronic pain conditions.
• Propose how injection therapies can be integrated into treatment protocols to enhance proper healing and affect chronic pain conditions.
• Determine appropriate use of diagnostic ultrasound to aid injection needle placement in treating with injection therapies.
