MCP Release Process Changes
What’s changing effective with MCP 14.0 (April 2012)?
• Major (x.0) MCP releases will occur annually rather than biennially
• Minor (x.1) MCP releases will not be done in the years between major
releases (under normal circumstances)
Why make a change?
• Minor (x.1) MCP releases were designed to release fixes, hardware adapts,
and a small number of minor enhancements – not major enhancements
• Unisys has a need to be able to deliver major software enhancements every
year
• The process used to build minor releases isn’t able to effectively support
delivery of major enhancements
