Motivation

● A concert hall for symphony and chamber music.

● A derivative version of “shoebox” shaped hall.

-combined with “fan” shape, more seats

-whole shape:superposition of a trapezoid and an arc

Basic Architecture Parameters

● Basic Structure○ one-layered hall

holding five main "fan" shaped audience areas

● Size○ Reference: Brahms

Concert Hall○ length, average width

and average height:33 meters,25 meters,13 meters.

○ Audience Area: 280m²- 315m².

○ Seats Number:1500 to 1700.

Design Idea● Lateral Wall -keep narrow - sawtooth line

● Roof - ceiling is too high above

● Stage -stage' s height:2.5m

-ceiling:an oblique line

● audience area -an elevated height of 0.3 meters between each row

-rear stairs as seats area
