Original Spirit Essences

Original Spirit Essences are presented for the cost conscious distiller and are professionally packaged in 50ml bottles. Ideal where spirits are to be consumed with mixers, or for use in cooking. Each bottle flavours 5 Litres (1.3 US Gallons).

Still Spirits Top Shelf Classic range essences are the world’s best. Each sachet contains the essential oils required to emulate some of the finest spirits available in the world. The unique concept of providing this flavour range in sachets means there is absolutely no compromise to quality as is occasionally the case when trying to fit them into a small bottle. Astringent NotesA sharp bitter astringent flavour that helps to add some bite to the Whiskey.

Carob NotesA chocolate grain flavour that results from the use of some mildly roasted grains and can also be contributed by some varieties of yeast during the early stages of fermentation.

Cedar OakThis imparts a distinctive drier oak flavour than the oak cask essence and is often found in Irish style whiskey.

Cereal NotesOften described as grainy, these flavour notes are a part of any grain spirit and are contained in the Whiskey bases. This essence allows additional cereal notes to be added to taste.

Fruity EstersFruity esters are prominent on the nose more than anywhere else. They add a great deal to that Whiskey bouquet.

Oak CaskA distinctive rounded oak cask flavour which is a main component in most whiskies.

Peat SmokeA strong, almost pungent peat smoke flavour. A very prominent flavour note from Scottish Whiskies.

Distillers CaramelTinting Agent to adjust the darkness of spirits.

Distilling Conditioner Defoaming Agent which when added to your wash in the still boiler before distilling, releases carbon dioxide and stops foaming of unfermented sugars during distillation.

GlycerineSmoothing Agent to improve fullness and mouth feel. For Whiskey follow instructions in Whiskey Profile Kit.

Mellow OakOak Extract used to Oak age spirits and wines. Ideal for Brandy, Whiskey, Dark Rum and Bourbon.

Still Spirits have developed the Premium Whiskey Profile Kit in response to so many home distillers who wanted to truly hand craft their own whiskey.

The Profile Kit provides all the flavour notes that make up a whiskey and the home distiller can adjust the flavour profile to exactly their own taste. Flavours like peat, oak, sherry, grain and fruity esters are just some of the notes that you can experiment with. The Profile Kit contains all the measuring equipment you will require for accurate dosing.

The Whiskey Profile Kit Recipe Book is included with a wide range of premium whiskey recipes to appeal to a wide range of connoisseurs and features approximate formulations of famous brands. Alternately advanced users may like to design their own whiskey to taste and the Recipe Book contains a full description of the attributes of the different flavour notes to assist you with

your design.
