Real Life factions

List all of the faction types that you can think of that happen in our lives. You can think of social groups, political groups, religions, clubs, cliques, groups that have common causes or many other things. But make sure they correspond to the faction components we put on the board.

Find your FactionsWhat were/are the characteristics of each of these

groups?

What were/are the (unwritten) rules?

What were/are drawbacks and benefits of each group?

What happened/happens when a member doesn't conform?

How were/are leaders chosen, based on what merits or personality types?

Did/Do groups compete with each other? How?

Did/Do groups intermingle? How and when?

Were/Are the groups long-lasting or do they only exist for a particular time?

Homework

Read Pages 339- 407 (Chapter 27 though 31) and do vocabulary for those chapters.

Make sure that you note the changes for the homework for next class.
