In the fall, “Ghosts & Goblins of Nevada’s Past” has become a popular fun and safe event for children and their families, offering old fashion trick or treating on Heritage Street, a Ghost town tour, the Haunted Depot and Spook Alley attractions along with games and costume contests.

Wandering thru the exhibits (inside and out) there are numerous plaques everywhere naming the sponsor/donor. A majority have the Clark County Museum Guild listed as the donor.

Established in 1975, the Clark County Museum Guild is a nonprofit Corporation affiliated with The Clark County

Museum. The charter of the Guild is to bring together people with cultural and philanthropic community interests to:

A. Assist in fund raising projects for the growth ofthe Museum.

B. Encourage, foster and assist in programs ofservice for research in history and in obtaining artifacts and memorabilia for the Museum.

C. Promote community interest in assisting the Museum programs.

The Guild works hand in hand with the Museum to have funds available for artifacts, exhibits, Museum functions and such items as the Museum sign at the entrance.

The Clark County (Heritage) Museum is located on 25 acres of land along Boulder Highway in Henderson, Nevada. The old

depot from Boulder City’s 1930 heyday watches Heritage Street where homes of yesterday stand in restored splendor; a Union Pacific engine sits solidly on its rails across the street from a turn of the century ore wagon; reminders of early Indians, miners and ranchers dot the desert behind the depot; and a beautiful stucco exhibit hall blends with the desert, inviting all to a walk in the past. History in its most palatable form welcomes thousands of visitors each year. (Lois Taylor, past President, Clark County Museum Guild and CC Museum Historian.)

The Clark County Museum first opened its doors in 1968 based on the original collection of Southern Nevada memorabilia collected by Anna Roberts Parks. Its mission was/is to preserve Southern Nevada’s History for future generations.

You can be a part of preserving history!

Join the Guild today or make a tax-deductible donation .

History The Guild meets once a month, on the fourth Monday, at the Museum. The meeting includes a social luncheon, an informative speaker, and the business meeting.

The truly unique park-like setting of the Museum allows you to relive the past as you wander down

tree-lined Heritage Street and visit the collection of historic homes and buildings that have been moved here from their original valley locations. These are fully restored to recreate Southern Nevada lifestyles in the earlier decades of the 20th century.

The Clark County Museum is renowned for its variety of special programs presented throughout the year on the grounds and the outdoor stage. Relax on the grassy seating area while you enjoy many spectacular performances. The largest of these events is the Invitational Native American Arts Festival held in the spring. The annual fes-tival highlights the history and artistry of Native American art, crafts, and cultures.

I (we) are interested in becoming members of the Clark County Museum Guild and/or donating to the Clark County Museum.
